Mad Lions ready for playoffs at Flashpoint 2
In the rematch between Fnatic and Mad Lions, the Danes finished off Fnatic once again.
Both teams are competing in IEM Beijing-Haidian and Flashpoint 2. Tuesday at IEM Beijing, Mad Lions knocked the Swedes out of the tournament. Today the two teams faced each other again. This time in the upper bracket final at Flashpoint 2.
Fnatic took the first map of the match, even though the Danes could have just well have won the map, as it was a very close game in the end.
Going into the game MAD Lions had a 100%-win rate on Vertigo, but Fnatic has now changed that to 86% with a 16-14 victory on the map.
Rasmus “sjuush” Beck and company answered back by taking a lead 11-4 on Fnatic's best map Inferno in the first half, closing the Swedish side down with patience and control.
The Swedes managed to get a couple of rounds before MAD Lions wrapped up the score 16-11 to take us to the third map.
On Overpass the match took another turn. Brollan went frenzy and helped his team gain a big advantage going 10-5 after the first half. On Fnatic's CT-side the Swedes were less convincing.
The match took some weird twist and turns during the second half of Overpass. One player kept his consistency though. Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin made 39 kills during the last map, but could not in the end prevent the Swedes from falling behind and once again lose to the Danes. In overtime, Mad Lions won the match by 19-16.
Fnatic - Mad Lions 1-2 (16-14, 11-16, 15-19)
With the victory, Mad Lions is ready for the playoffs at Flashpoint 2, while Fanatic gets an extra chance of qualifying on Thursday in the Consolidation Final.
