MAD Lions reverse sweep G2 and eliminate them from BLAST Showdown!

TMB and company from MAD Lions are through to the final of their side of the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown bracket, following a 2-1 victory over G2. The international roster will take upon either Team Liquid or Virtus.pro on Sunday at 18:30 (CET) for a spot in the Fall Final.

The action started on MAD Lions’ pick of Ancient, where G2 completely demolished the Lions as they closed out the map 16-4. G2’s huNter played a massive role in the victory and topped the scoreboard with a massive 2.26 Rating and 28-7 K/D.

MAD Lions were able to answer back on their opponents pick of Mirage, which saw a very close battle between the two squads. The French-Balkan roster ended the first half with a small 7-8 advantage, but MAD Lions quickly strung together 5 rounds in the beginning of the second half to go up 12-8 on the scoreboard. After that, G2 managed to regain control and climbed back on the scoreboard, taking a 12-14 lead before MAD Lions picked themselves up and hit match point. NiKo and company did manage to force overtime, but ultimately fell short as the Lions went on to close the map 19-16.

The decider of Inferno turned into straight madness and also reached overtime just like Mirage. In OT, MAD Lions came out on top after securing the last remaining round with a stellar retake on B-site to wrap up the series. MAD Lions’ jL topped the scoreboard with a 1.33 Rating and helped his team seal the deal by dropping 35 frags.
