Fnatic eliminates Eternal Fire from EU RMR
A good team effort secured Fnatic a chance to qualify for Rio tomorrow.
Eternal Fire's Rio dream was crushed Friday evening in Malta with a 2-0 defeat to Fnatic.
Both teams were under pressure after having lost two of their three matches at the event so far. The match started out on Vertigo, where the Turkish roster had issues with Fnatic's T-side. It was especially Nico 'nicoodoz' Tamjidi's sniper rifle, that made a huge difference for Fnatic as they stole Eternal Fire's map pick away.
Fnatic then went on to display another superb T-side on Overpass, where they found nine rounds in the first half. With 80%! of all rounds won on the CT side in the first three matches in the group it was practically mission impossible for Eternal Fire in the second half. Here the Turkish roster did not bow down and kept almost every round competitive. But as soon as they had momentum they went on to lose against an eco-buy from Fnatic. A devastating blow that they did not recover from.
Fnatic lives on to fight another day in Malta with the victory, while Eternal Fire is eliminated from the tournament.
