FaZe are Grand Final bound after Astralis win
FaZe are ready to take on BIG in the Grand Final of Roobet Cup!
After seeing BIG qualify for the Grand Final at Roobet Cup, Astralis and FaZe had the chance to do the same. The Danes managed to take a single map, but it turned out that there is a reason that FaZe are the favorites at the moment.
Astralis started the series with a tight win on their pick of Overpass. The first half of the map was very close as Astralis was only behind by a single round at halftime even though 'broky' was having a field day on the defense at 17-7. The map, which was influenced heavily by long winstreaks, was tied at 13-13 and that is when the Danish squad put their foot down and stopped FaZe from taking any more rounds.
Astralis got a good start on the second map of Mirage as they picked up four early CT-side rounds, but from there on out it was a seemingly unstoppable 'ropz' that led the FaZe squad on a 9-1 half-ending run. Though Astralis did pick up a fair few rounds in the second half, FaZe comfortably secured the map and tied the series at 1-1.
The third and deciding map of Dust2 looked like a close affair early on as the teams were going back and forth, but with massive impact 'rain' and 'broky' made sure that FaZe had a cushy five-round lead as they turned to the T side.
Nothing changed for FaZe in the second half as they continued mowing down the soldiers of Astralis, who were more often than not, without a chance in their engagements. FaZe easily overcame Astralis on the third map of Dust2 and secured a spot in the Grand Final versus BIG.
