f0rest: "A new Counter-Strike game in the future would be awesome"
CS:GO pros discuss whether or not we need a new Counter-Strike game
With Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as the two biggest games, there has been a multitude of CS games throughout its history. CS:GO launched in 2012 and with it nearing its 10 years anniversary many people have discussed whether or not a new game is in the works. Betway Esports sat down with various professional CS players and asked them about the topic.
One of Counter-Strike's greatest players of all time is, without any doubt, Swedish Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg. Having reached the highest levels of CS:GO and still competing with his teammates at Dignitas he is as close to a Counter-Strike expert as it gets. When asked whether or not a new CS game, in his eyes, would be a good thing he answered:
"Something new could be positive to keep Counter-Strike going as a whole. Ever so often a new Counter-Strike game has been released. Definitely, something new would be good, but that is further down the line." He carries on by saying the following: "A new Counter-Strike in the future would be awesome".
Whether or not Valve has anything planned in regards to their Counter-Strike franchise is unknown. Perhaps a Counter-Strike: Source 2 is right around the corner.
