dupreeh on upcoming Major: I think we can do a really great result
Astralis has been on fire at IEM Fall Europe which naturally leads to the question. Can they win another Major?
The reigning champions of the three latest Majors are starting to heat up. That has got to be the conclusion after a flawless run at the group stage at the RMR event IEM Fall for Astralis.
The Danes booked their ticket for the PGL Major in Stockholm by winning all of their five group matches. With the new AWP'er Philip "Lucky" Ewald integrated on the team, Astralis has looked more and more solid despite playing without the perhaps best in-game leader in the world, Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander.
Playing on LAN and being together on a trip away from home has also been a factor according to the experienced rifler, Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen.
- It is always nice to feel the energy with the rest of my teammates. I think there is something about going somewhere else to perform your career. It is really great to go out and feel the energy from your teammates and feel like you are actually out there like we used to be. It feels like that we are on another level in terms of communication. People want it a little bit more. Going into this qualification for the Major and also for BLAST to go play in the Royal Arena has definitely sparked something in everyone on the team.
Astralis has managed to qualify for both the Major in Stockholm but also the BLAST Premier Fall Finals on home turf in Copenhagen with the current lineup.
Can Astralis do it again?
With their 5-0 run at IEM Fall, Astralis seems to have found the perfect timing for their resurgence on the big stage.
- We are going into the Major with the belief that anything can happen. If we play like this, obviously we need to play better, and we have the time to work on it, then I think we can do a really great result, Peter 'dupreeh' Rasmussen tells in a press conference before the playoffs at IEM Fall Europe.
The four-time Major winner can only see two favorites for the title at PGL Stockholm.
- Honestly, I only think there are two teams going strong into the Major and that is NAVI and Gambit. I don’t think that there is any European team or American team for that matter, that is performing at their best. It feels like there is a lot of things going on in every team, and everyone doesn't seem to be able to figure out how they want to play. We saw G2 play really great before the player break and now all of a sudden they are struggling. The same thing is the case with Heroic. It is so much up and down right now.
On Friday Astralis will play the Bulgarians from Fiend at the playoffs at IEM Fall Europe.
