Danish Giants send G2 to the lower bracket at BLAST Premier Global Final
Astralis advance through the upper bracket with a hard-fought victory against G2 in the upper semi-finals.
Astralis beat G2 2-1 in the upper bracket semi-finals of BLAST Premier Global Final, setting up a match against the winner of Liquid vs. Vitality in the upper final for a ticket to the big grand final, while G2 will have to fight for survival against s1mple and company in the lower semi-finals.
The action started on Dust2 where NiKo lit up the server and showcased why he is one of the best players in the world. G2 dominated the first half and cruised to a 11-4 lead, but mistakes on the CT-side allowed Astralis to lower the deficit and be close to take the map into overtime. On Vertigo it was a different story, both teams followed each other in the first half but as the teams switched sides the Danes completely shut down G2 and only allowed them to grab one round. NiKo and company displayed a great CT-side on the decider and they seemed to be the team that would take home the victory. But Astralis picked themselves up as they switched side and won 7 rounds in a row before G2 answered back. With the score being 13-14 to G2, Xypn9x saved Astralis with an important B-hold that crushed G2’s economy and secured the Danes victory in the end.
