The Russians from Spirit have done it again.
For the second time in a row, the CIS squad has managed to qualify for the playoff stage and go Top 8 at a Major championship proving a lot of people and their Pick’ems wrong.
We spoke with Spirit’s captain and IGL Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov following their impressive victory against Liquid yesterday. In the interview, we asked him about what gave Spirit the edge in taking down the powerful North Americans.
We had a lot of time and we had prepared since noon. But more than that, we’ve played them a lot in practice. They are like our best practice buddies. So that’s why maybe the veto went the way it went. They didn’t want to play Overpass because we have beat them a lot on Overpass in practice.
We knew they would pick Mirage, and they knew we would pick Vertigo. And they wanted to play Ancient, and we were ready for that, chopper said to Pley.gg.
