Breaking: North shuts down
The Nordic team has been shut down by its owners.
In a surprise announcement today on Twitter, North has been shut down by their owners.
- We have searched the market to get one or more co-investors on board the project, but have unfortunately not found the right match. It will require significant continued investment to create a sustainable business in the future and therefore we believe that the sole responsibility for our overall business is to focus all our focus on our core business in F.C. Copenhagen, Parken and Lalandia, just as Nordisk Film will focus on its large core and growth businesses, the board of director Lars Bo Jeppesen stated in a press announcement.
North's FIFA team will be handed over to the football club FC Copenhagen.
North was formed in 2017 and famously signed "Kjærbye" from their main rivals Astralis in 2018. Their latest big win was in 2018, where they won DreamHack Stockholm by winning the Grand Final against fellow Danes, Astralis.
