Astralis survives and eliminates G2!

gla1ve’s troops are through to the playoffs after defeating G2 2-0 on Dust2 (16-13) and Inferno (19-16) in DreamHack Masters Winter.

The last time the two teams met on Dust2 was back in October, where the G2 squad picked the map and defeated Astralis 16-11, but this time the Danes come out stronger and got the best start to the series with a 1-0 lead. On the next map Inferno, a couple of strong rounds from Xypn9x and Magisk secured Astralis 11 rounds before halftime on T-side. NiKo and company didn’t give up easy and fought their way into overtime, but the Danes closed it out pretty confident, wrapping up the series 2-0.

Despite the loss, NiKo ended up being the overall top player of the game with a rating of 1.16, 86.6 ADR, and a 51-44 score, while device finished right under him with a rating of 1.13.

Astralis will look forward to playing against Gambit in the playoffs tomorrow at 16:30 (CEST) and the winner of the match will move on to the semi-finals of the single-elimination bracket, while G2 leaves the tournament with a 9-12th place and $2,500 in prize earnings.
