Astralis got off a strong start with a 2-0 victory against NIP
Astralis wins the opening round against NIP.
A great debut for k0nfig and blameF, as Astralis took down NIP in a 2-0 series at BLAST Premier Fall Final. The Danish squad will next face off against Vitality on Thursday at 18:00 in the upper bracket semi-final, while NIP has fallen to the lower bracket, facing Liquid.
The action started with Astralis’s pick of Nuke, but it was NIP who took control from the start as the Ninjas took the pistol and converted. The Danes went on a seven-round streak on the offense, giving a tight game. Astralis found the early advantage to edge the half ahead 8-7. Xyp9x with a 1v1 to win the pistol and set Astralis up for a great defensive half on Nuke. The Danes were quick to gain their footing, taking control of the map. Astralis went on an incredible eight-round winning streak, and without dropping a single round in the second half, the Danes secured the first map of Nuke, 16-7.
Going into NiP's pick of Overpass, the Swedes faced an uphill battle to force the decider as Astralis went 3-0 before NiP put their first on the tally. Despite a bad start, NiP pushed back found openings on the B site to close the gap. But Astralis kept their chin up and went to break with an 8-7 lead. After moving to the T side, Gla1ve's troops continued their winning streak, going up 13-7. Astralis went all the way to match point, but NIP managed to turn the tides, winning five rounds in a row to force overtime. Astralis eventually strung four in a row to reach match point, and although NIP proved difficult to finish off, gla1ve and company got the job done in overtime on the back of a flawless offense.
