Astralis ease past Russian youngsters
The Danes continue their campaign at DreamHack Masters Winter after beating Gambit 2-0
Vertigo has or may never be a favourite map for Astralis. Nonetheless, did the Danish powerhouse use the map as a launchpad towards a convincing 2-0 victory against a well-playing Gambit team.
Vertigo started out really close with the lead shifting between the two teams. Even though Astralis taking the first pistol round, it was Gambit who controlled the first part of the match. The Russians led by IGL nafany managed to take over the A-site multiple times with a solid T-side resulting in a 7-3 lead. Astralis stepped up, in spite of a bad start and won 5 rounds in a row, setting the score at 8-7 going into the switch up. The Danes continued their strong play and closed out the map 16-9 by the help of a stellar showing by Emil “magisk” Reif.

Inferno was a very close affair, just as the first map on Vertigo. Yet, it felt like Astralis was in control throughout the entire map, especially on their CT-side where they put up a 9-4 second half which concluded a close but also secure 16-12 victory for Astralis.
Astralis will play against FURIA tomorrow at 16:30 (CET) in the exciting battle for a Grand Final spot at DreamHack Masters Winter.
