Astralis defeat Vitality 2-1 and advance to the Grand Finals!
Astralis win 2-1 and prove why they are currently ranked as number 1 in the world
A battle for a spot in the Grand Final of BLAST Premier Global Final 2020 sees the world's number 1 and number 2 face one and another. With names on the server such as Nicolai "device" Reedtz and, of course, Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, the fight between Astralis and Vitality was one made of dreams for every Counter-Strike fan across the world - and what a fight it was.
The first map was set to take place on Vitality's map pick Dust2. With such strong competitors battling it was no surprise that the map went back and forth. In the end, however, it was Astralis to take the upper hand and close map one with a 16-14 scoreline favoring the Danes of Astralis.
The second map was, to many people's surprise not Inferno or Nuke, but instead Overpass. Astralis, however, didn't showcase their true abilities on Overpass, and with an impenetrable defense from Vitality, the French managed to take map two 16-10 and force a third and final map.
Inferno was where it was all going to be decided - a map that both teams are more than familiar with, Astralis perhaps more than Vitality. With a win rate of 78,9% on the map in the last 3 months, Astralis is definitely no joke on Inferno. They showed exactly that as they steamrolled Vitality and closed the series 2-1 with a 16-5 map win on Inferno. With the victory against Vitality, the Danes have now secured a spot in the Grand Final.
