It is a lonely job playing B site on Vertigo as most teams will often use a lot of energy around the Ramp and A site areas. And that is why it is important for you to know how to hold it properly.

One of the most successful teams on the map in recent times is the Brazilians of FURIA. They post the best CT-side winrate of any team versus Top20 in 2022, and of the reasons is 'KSCERATO', who is the B-site anchor. Content creator "Glaze" showcases some of the Brazilian's positions, decisions, and utility usage against two top teams in G2 and ENCE.

A playoff spot was on the line when the Ninjas In Pyjamas took on FURIA. It looked ly a close matchup on paper, but the Brazilians had a hard time containing the Scandinavians.

The action began on Nuke, the pick of FURIA, but the Brazilians would quickly come to regret that. Led by "Plopski", the Ninjas shut down everything the FURIA squad threw at them, and without any hiccups secured the first map at 16-2.

NIP were still going strong as they arrived on their map pick of Inferno. They got off to a great early start on the T side, with a 5-1 lead, but "KSCERATO" and a reinvigorated FURIA finally fought back and took the halftime lead at 8-7.

The Ninjas took over the game as they arrived on the CT side. With "Brollan" doing great work in Banana, FRUIA struggled to find openings. The Brazilians only took two rounds before being pushed out of the server by the Ninjas.

With the win, NIP secure a place in the playoffs while FURIA will have an all-or-nothing match tomorrow.

The Brazilians from FURIA seem to have found their form here three months into 2022, with the team presenting a stunning performance at ESL Pro League Season 15. The South American heavy hitter is now alone in front of Group B after taking down Vitality this Friday.

Andrei “arT” Piovezan and his men began the match in flying fashion on Vertigo where they quickly showed the French/Danish squad what they could expect in today’s matchup – fast-paced Counter-Strike. The aggressive and offensive playstyle from FURIA kept giving Vitality big problems on the first map, which the 16-4 scoreline in favor of FURIA clearly proved.

On Inferno, Vitality looked much more confident and comfortable, despite FURIA’s powerful duo in yuurih and KSCERATO continuing their strong levels from Vertigo. The two teams were tough to separate in the first half - however, after the switch, Vitality pushed the throttle on their CT side and managed to win four consecutive retakes, which in the end secured them a 16-12 map win.

The brawl continued on Nuke, where FURIA came out strong on their CT-side. A 9-6 lead at the break left some hope in the Vitality camp. And despite a good start to the second half, the French/Danish roster could not distance themselves from FURIA on the scoreboard. The Brazilians closed out multiple rounds in the end winning some important clutches, while Vitality once again missed their star player, Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, who was playing well below his normal level of Counter-Strike on all three maps. A 16-14 victory for FURIA puts them into a big step closer to the playoffs, while Team Vitality needs to win their last two matches to stay in contention for a spot in the next phase of the tournament.

The second day of play in Group B at the ESL Pro League Season 15 saw FURIA lock horns with German-based Sprout. FURIA were the heavy favorites going into the Bo3-series and came straight from a 2-1 victory against Outsiders in yesterday's Bo3-series. It was also FURIA to prove themselves the stronger team, with great individual performances from star-players "KSECERATO" and "arT". In a quick manner, FURIA decapitated Sprout and joined ENCE at the top of Group B. The 2-0 victory marks the second win for FURIA at the ESL Pro League Season 15. 

The first map of the series was set to be played on Ancient and was the choice of Sprout. Ancient is the most played map for Sprout, as of recent times, and despite being a very successful map for the Brazilians it is one of their least played maps in the past three months. Despite this, however, it was FURIA to dominate from early on. A beautiful ACE from "saffee" in the first pistol-round saw FURIA embark on their dominating CT-path to an 11-4 scoreline at halftime. The second half showed a more potent and dangerous Sprout roster, with young "Staehr" delivering a great performance. Unfortunately for Sprout, however, it was too late. The 11-4 lead proved too much to come back from and FURIA closed out Ancient at the scoreline of 16-11. 

The second map of the series was Mirage and was, of course, picked by FUIRA. Mirage is one of FURIA's most dangerous maps in the official map pool. The open spaces of Mirage make for an array of creative strategies, that the Brazilians are scarily good at utilizing. This time it was the Brazilians to start on the T-side, and once again it was FURIA to secure advantage going into the second half. An impressive performance from "arT" led FURIA to a 9-6 scoreline on their T-side of Mirage. After FURIA winning the second pistol-round things looked bleak for Sprout, and they were. At 16-12, it was FURIA to take home Mirage and the Bo3-series with an impressive 2-0 victory against Sprout.

Jame and company debuted the new banner tonight when they took the Brazilians from FURIA at Group B. A match that ended up in favour of FURIA through an impressive re-sweep after losing the first map in a close 16-14 fight.

Andrei “arT” Piovezan and the rest of FURIA showed great character on the last two maps of Overpass and Vertigo, where they showcased their aggressive playstyle to perfection, making it very difficult for Outsiders to pick rounds – both on the T and CT sides.

NAVI has started 2022 on shaky ground after mixed results at BLAST Premier Spring Groups and a narrow victory against ENCE yesterday. But to be fair to s1mple and company, there has still been an aura surrounding the team, that when things get serious, NAVI is still in control and above all else.

Today the Ukrainian/Russian roster had the opportunity to qualify for the playoffs at IEM Katowice. FURIA was in their way, but not for long. A near-perfect CT side on Mirage gave NAVI a 13-2 lead on the first map that finished before four of the FURIA players had scored double digits on the scoreboard.

On Nuke NAVI just continued their grind towards a quick win. As commentator Mohan "launders" Govindasamy stated in the first half "it almost looks like a scrim" after NAVI tried to execute the same opening four times in a row. In the second half, FURIA tried to make a comeback with Kaike "kscerato" Cerato in excellent shape, but the Brazilian could not do it alone. NAVI won the map and can now look forward to a meeting with either FaZe or Fnatic in the battle for a direct spot in the Semi-Finals at IEM Katowice. FURIA drops down to the lower bracket, where G2 awaits.

IEM Katowice is already well underway as we near the end of day one. With Group A having already played their opening matches it was time for the teams within Group B to prove themselves. A clash between the all-Brazilian FURIA and the all-Danish Astralis would send either one of the teams off to a great start to IEM Katowice. Whilst the former Astralis duo in “Magisk” and “dupreeh” managed to win with Vitality earlier today, the actual Astralis roster struggled. The Danes would have to see themselves bested by an impressive FURIA roster in just two maps.

The first map was the choice of Astralis and saw the Bo3-series start on Overpass. Despite having picked the map it was Astralis to start the slowest on Overpass. A CT-sided FURIA seemed to have the answers for the Astralis offense and secured a three-round lead at 9-6 going into the second half. Whilst it was a closer affair in the second half of Overpass the great performances from “blameF” and “k0nfig” weren’t enough to get the Danes over the line. At 16-12 it was FURIA to claim Overpass and set themselves up for a potential 2-0 victory in their opening match at IEM Katowice.

The second map of the series was to be played on Mirage and was, of course, picked by FURIA. Whilst Astralis have played Mirage 11 times in the past three months, it is still worth considering the many years of the map being an instant ban for the Danes. The first half didn’t turn out great for “gla1ve” and his troops either. Despite “k0nfig” yet again doing absolutely everything in his ability to keep Astralis in the game it was a, this time T-sided, FURIA roster to secure another 9-6 lead at halftime. The second half started with a seemingly more confident Astralis roster. This, however, was only until FURIA shifted into gear once again. At the scoreline of 16-11, FURIA closed out Mirage and secured their first victory at IEM Katowice, sending a beaten-down Astralis to the lower bracket.

Gambit has become the third team to claim victory in the Avicii Arena following their 2-0 win over FURIA. Gambit was the favorite going into the Bo3-series. With good performances on Inferno and Overpass, they secured a 2-0 victory and secured a spot in the Semi-finals of the PGL Major 2021.

The action started with FURIA’s map pick of Inferno, and the battle went back-and-forth, where both teams traded rounds. FURIA seemed comfortable on their map pick, giving Gambit a competitive first half on the offense. The Russians began to stabilize their defense and close gaps, as Gambit went to halftime with a 9-6 advantage. FURIA managed to grind the score the way back to 9-9 at the start of the second half and seemed like they may be in for a comeback on their map pick. Gambit decided to awaken again and climbed to the match point, but FURIA fought back to force overtime, where it was an intense battle that saw them at 17-17 before Gambit took control to close things out, 19-17.

The second map, Gambits' pick of Overpass, began as a tightly fought battle. FURIA started on the defensive side winning the pistol and converting. Gambit got their offense running, won the next five rounds as FURIA struggled to close the gaps on both sides. The Brazilians began to find their right footing late in the half, as they brought it to a 7-8 scoreline at halftime. It was a completely different story after switching sides as Hobbit and company came alive on the defense, shutting down the Brazilian T-side. Gambit had left two FURIA players with no money to purchase a weapon or utility, and then Hobbits' troops secured their spot in the semi-finals.

The last Regional Major Ranking tournament before the upcoming PGL Major has been concluded, with the Grand Final of IEM Fall North America being decided Sunday night. The victors ended up being the Brazilian Panthers from FURIA owing to a devastating 3-0 win against GODSENT in the Grand Final.

Andrei “arT” Piovezan and his troops were in control of things right from the very beginning of the Bo5 final. The aggressive Brazilians overpowered their countrymen from GODSENT time after time, round after round, which also showed through the statistics and the scoreboard. Especially FURIA’s Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato was presenting a high level of Counter-Strike, who also ended up being the standout performer in the match.

In the other matchup at IEM Fall NA, Liquid took on the underdogs from paiN in the 3rd place decider. Liquid had not much to play for, where paiN on the other hand could secure a prestigious Legend spot in the Major, if they managed to beat Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and company.

Nonetheless, did it matter, as Liquid swept the Brazilian after losing the first map on Overpass 16-9. The 2-1 result means that Evil Geniuses earn the Legend spot for the upcoming Major, while paiN must go through the Challenger Stage.

The final round of the ESL Pro League Season 14 group stage has now concluded as Ninjas in Pyjamas are the last team to book a playoff spot after Team Liquid managed to take down FURIA.

Before we headed into the last three matches in the event, only two of the six teams had something to play for. Gambit and Liquid had already secured their spot in the playoffs, while the last spot was left to be decided between FURIA and NiP. The Ninjas did everything they could as they managed to lock in a convincing 2-0 against Gambit, handing them their first loss at the event. Luckily for the Ninjas, Team Liquid managed to come out on top after OT against FURIA to wrap up the series 2-1 and send them to playoffs.

Liquid kicked off the series on Inferno by winning the pistol but FURIA quickly answered back with a force-buy win that helped them string together three rounds in a row. For the rest of the half, FalleN’s troops completely dominated the Brazilians out of the server as they finished 11-4 up. In the second half, Liquid continued where they left off and cruised to victory while denying the Brazilians to grab even a single one, 16-4.

The Brazilians started Nuke by winning the T pistol, but this time it was Liquid who answered back by winning a force-buy round to then string together 5 rounds in a row. After that, Liquid were unable to stabilize their defense as FURIA started to find their footing, managing to grab 6 rounds to lower their deficit to one round before halftime. FURIA were able to remain in comfortable control in the second half, giving up just two rounds before closing out Nuke 16-10.

FURIA were leading 15-11 on Mirage when Team Liquid came alive and managed to force overtime. FalleN and company closed out the map 19-17 and took the series 2-1 to deny FURIA a spot in the playoffs. KSCERATO played a wonderful series and did his absolute best by dropping 35 frags on Mirage (80 in total), but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to help his team get the victory.

Group D looked almost but over as FURIA and Ninjas in Pyjamas clocked in for today's work. Gambit and Team Liquid had secured their spot in the playoffs with victories earlier today, and in the last match of the day, it was expected that NIP would do the same.

Judged from the first 20 rounds of the match, it looked like the bookmaker's favorite would seal the deal. Up 13-7 on FURIA's map pick, NIP had the match where they wanted it. But then everything crashed. FURIA went into lockdown on their defense on Nuke and won the next nine rounds in a row to win 16-13. A huge shocker for NIP, who had to win today's match to be certain of advancement. Tomorrow the roster face Gambit in their last game, and you do not want to go into the last round against the number two in the world needing a win...

So the Swedish Ninjas were forced to win their own map pick, Ancient. But like on Nuke, FURIA produced a stellar CT-side. Kaike 'KSCERATO' Cerato was the dangerman for FURIA, who really only had their Danish AWP'er, Nicolai 'device' Reedtz on fire during the first half. 11-4 was the margin, that NIP had to chase during their CT-side in the second half. And so they did. In an explosive second half with countless retakes performed by NIP, the match was suddenly all even at 11-11. A dramatic comeback from NIP, who found some much-needed momentum which was enough to secure them the map. A crazy match of course needed a third map decider.

Mirage started as expected. FURIA continued their wildly impressive CT-sides with another huge performance giving them an 11-4 lead at the break. This time it was the entire FURIA roster that chipped in on the scoreboard. A fact that made the job even harder for the Swedish Ninjas, who went behind 14-4 before putting in their first-round win in the second half. The deficit was simply too much for the Swedes, who lost the match and probably the possibility of advancing in the tournament. FURIA can be proud of their performance in the light of them having to play with their coach as a stand-in. 

With the victory, FURIA now looks into another difficult match against Team Liquid. A victory will qualify them for the playoffs at ESL Pro League. NIP will have a similar tough job to do tomorrow. They need to beat Gambit and FURIA to lose in order to gain access to the next stage of the tournament.

During the Brazilian derby between FURIA and TeamOne at the beginning of the second, Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato turned into a true hero on the server. Placed at the top of banana on Inferno, the FURIA superstar managed to take down the entire TeamOne team with his Glock. A play, we decided to pick as today's Pley of the Day!

FURIA have put their first victory on the board in ESL Pro League Season 14, defeating their fellow countrymen from TeamOne 2-0 in the second round of play in the round robin. KSCERATO and company impressed throughout the series and left no doubt that they are dangerous even with their coach in the line-up. 

The action started on TeamOne’s map pick of Mirage, where FURIA came out on top after being behind 11-14. FURIA’s KSCERATO stole the show and helped his team close out the deal, posting a 1.59 rating and 112.2 ADR. The 21-year-old Brazilian also topped the scoreboard with 33 frags. 

FURIA came into the second map gun blazing, storming to a 4-0 lead on the T-side before TeamOne found their footing and strung together 5 rounds in a row. TeamOne maintained firm control until the halftime whistle, ending it 9-6 in their favor. The second half saw the two Brazilian squads trading rounds back and forth. In the end, FURIA managed to equalize the score from the first half, and came dangerously close to securing the match with defuse coming in 0.001 seconds too late! Overtime it was.

Here FURIA had the chance to win the match once again, but TeamOne continued to prove difficult to handle. In the second overtime, the underdogs could not withstand the pressure from Andrei 'arT' Piovezan and the rest of the FURIA gang, who won a hard fought victory against their countrymen.

With the victory FURIA secured their first victory in Group D. TeamOne will have to dig deep in the next few matches to keep their hopes of advancing alive.

In the upper bracket we have a Danish Derby to look forward to. Astralis and Heroic both won their opening matches and will get the chance to settle the score. Who is the best Danish team right now?

Eight teams fight for survival in the lower brackets. Only four teams will make it through to Sunday.

Vitality have had difficulties finding the same level of performance since their anchor player in “RpK” was benched and removed from the starting roster. However, they are starting to show signs of regaining their dominance and their Bo3-series victory against FURIA today was another example of exactly that. FURIA was by no means helpless against the side of Vitality, but it was clear that it was the French who wanted it the most. After an intense victory on Overpass, the French closed out the series with a phenomenal performance on Nuke. The 2-0 victory means that Vitality now advances to the upper bracket of the IEM Cologne 2021 main event.

The first map was the pick of the French Vitality and was chosen to be played on Overpass. With both teams having a decent win-rate on the map of Overpass it was clear that the first map of the series was going to be close and intense. It was FURIA to start the strongest on their CT-side and could walk to halftime at a narrow lead at the scoreline of 8-7. Despite the strong performance from FURIA in the first half, it was all Vitality in the second half. Having woken up and now ready to fight they rolled through the Brazilians of FURIA and left them with little chance to make a comeback attempt. Ultimately the French Vitality closed out Overpass at the scoreline of 16-10.

The second map of the Bo3-series took place on Nuke. The map was, of course, picked by FURIA, and looking at their recent results on the map it was clear as to why they wanted Nuke to be the second map of the series. Despite FURIA’s impressive win-rate on Nuke, however, it was the French of Vitality to come flying out of the gate. FURIA managed to stabilize and tie things up, however, ultimately it was Vitality to take home the victory at the scoreline of 16-14 and thereby also the 2-0 series victory.

IEM Cologne 2021 update – Renegades vs Natus Vincere (1-2)

While Vitality proved a point against FURIA another interesting matchup took place at the IEM Cologne 2021 main event. The underdogs of Renegades took on the tall task of facing Natus Vincere and “s1mple” in a Bo3-series. The first map was to be played on Inferno and surprisingly it was Renegades to take home the victory at the scoreline of 16-10. The second map was Natus Vincere’s map pick and saw the Bo3-series heading to the map of Dust 2. On the second map, it became clear that Natus Vincere are on a different level than Renegades and without too much hassle they managed to take home Dust 2 at the scoreline of 16-6. The third and final map saw Natus Vincere continue their domination as they closed out Nuke and the series with a 16-4 victory.

The FURIA roster is by no means a roster to disregard when it comes to tier 1 CS:GO. Whilst it has often been "arT" to take headlines they are well-equipped with many other fantastic players. One of these players is, of course, Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato. The star rifler is very difficult to play against and is always good for a multi-kill. 

FURIA are currently facing Vitality in the opening round of the IEM Cologne 2021 main event. Once again "KSCERATO" proved to everyone why he is such a great asset to the FURIA roster as he silenced Vitality's offense in a matter of seconds. The upgraded pistols from the French had no chance at entering the B-bombsite as "KSCERATO" mowed down each and every one of his opponents to secure the round and a beautiful 4K. Take a look:

" Merriman was until April part of the Cloud9 roster, that out of nowhere was disbanded. 

The 22-year-old rifler returned to his native country after joining Endpoint in April. So far It has been with limited success teamwise, but on a personal level, mezii has shown some of his best Counter-Strike.

In their 2-1 defeat against AGO in the playoffs at Spring Sweet Spring 3, the talented Englishman made 81 kills during the match! He ended with a +30 K-D score, which is almost unheard of with the loss taken into consideration.

With a 1.32 rating during the eight maps played, mezii secured the top spot on the rankings at the tournament.

BIG ended up on top of the event, after a great performance by the German side, but there isn’t one big player in the top five best players category.

The BIG team fought like a team, with no one of them standing out as their best players, but instead as a unit, but there have been some players who have been outstanding at the event.

For example, there are two FURIA players on the list, as they ended up coming second in the event, where they up till the final played some of the best CS:GO we have ever seen from the Brazilian side.
