Vitality too strong for device and Astralis

A Danish clash played out on the server as Vitality took on Astralis in their opening match at BLAST Premier Spring Groups. The reunion of Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and Emil "Magisk" Reif playing against their former teammates on home ground is always something special for the players.

Starting off on Astralis´s map pick Overpass. A map that the Danish team has been looking decent on during the end of 2022.

Christian 'Buzz' Andersen secured himself and Astralis the perfect start to the game as the 19-year-old took down all five players of Vitality to give Astralis the first pistol round win. What looked like a great T side from Astralis ended up being a fine CT side for Vitality as Astralis couldn't complete more than six rounds despite being in front 6-5 on the more intense T side. The first half ended with four Vitality rounds which gave them a 9-6 lead.

The second half started with a fire in the Danish logo as the Danish team managed to take the first five rounds of the game. An 11-9 scoreline in favor of blameF and co. turned around quickly as Vitality saw their opportunities on Astralis´s weaker B-side. Astralis´s B defense couldn't hold back the troops from Vitality. The French team secured themself seven out of the last eight rounds to win the game 16-12.

Next up, Vertigo. Astralis came out firing just like on Overpass. 9-1 was the scoreline after just ten rounds, but when the Astralis choke came in clutch for Vitality as they won some rounds which should not have gone in their favor, giving themselves hope to go into the second half as they ended the half being behind with only 10-5.

Switching over to the CT side was Vitality. The map quickly became very CT-sided as Lotan "Spinx" Giladi and Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut both played really well during the last ten rounds of the game. Vitality took down Astralis in a dominant 4-0 win during overtime which saw dupreeh and Magisk take down their former teammates 2-0 in their opening game.
