GODSENT in 2020
Starting the year in 2020, GODSENT took a 3-4th finish at the DreamHack Open Anaheim EU Closed Qualifier after they lost the semi-final against Heroic. A month later, zehN and company would compete in ICE Challenge 2020, where they once again took a 3-4th finish as they lost to NAVI in the semi-final playoff bracket. The European mixture managed to make it through from the upper bracket of the closed qualifier at DreamHack Master Spring EU in April, which saw them advance to the main event. GODSENT would find themselves in a busy schedule over the course of the upcoming months, being part of more than 5 tournaments. However, their achievements in most of the tournaments weren’t particularly impressive, to say the least. Their best performance came in DreamHack Masters Winter when they landed 3-4th place and delivered the first major upset of the tournament with a victory over the mighty Danes from Astralis.
Low point
On October 21, the talks of selling their entire roster started to begin. The failure of the Swedish organization to produce significant results may have led to the decision. FunPlus Phoenix joined the talks to sign GODSENT’s roster, and the Chinese organization’s interest came after the Flashpoint-member team announced Petar “peca” Markovic as their new General Manager. GODSENT was ranked 19th in the world at that moment, after peaking at no. #15 in September.

Highlight of the year
GODSENT most remarkable performance of the year was against Astralis in DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 Europe, where they delivered the first major upset of the tournament with a 2-1 victory over one of the best teams in the world, sending them to an elimination match.
Transfers
On May 22, GODSENT announced the transfer of the young Danish AWPer Asger “farlig” Jensen from Copenhagen Flames, ready to replace the Swedish star “Maikelele” who was one of the two original members of the lineup. The benching of the Swede caused a lot of drama and controversies. Later on, the Swedish organization benched kRYSTAL from the roster and picked up Luka “emi” Vukovic, who quickly proved that he was the right man for the job. On December 18, GODSENT confirmed that they are in discussions to add Miikka “sunny” Kemppi from ENCE as a replacement for kRYSTAL.
GODSENT moving forward
The squad of GODSENT managed to put on promising showings in the end of this year, looking sharper with the addition of emi to the lineup. The 27-year-old Serbian seems to be a perfect match for the Swedish organization and will hopefully help to push his team further up in the rankings to get in the Top 15 again soon.
