poizon after tough year: I had some motivational issues
Will we see the former Complexity AWPer at the top of CS:GO again in 2023?
Valentin "poizon" Vasilev was once one of CS:GO’s most promising AWPers as he came through the ranks at Windigo and later on in Complexity. However, the last 12 months haven’t been good for the Bulgarian sniper, having struggled to find a new CS:GO home after his benching on his North American team.
Besides a short trial at Fnatic from March to May, poizon hasn’t featured in many official matches this year leaving him quite unsatisfied, he explains in a Twitlonger.
- Last year has been pretty hard for me, if not the hardest as a person and also as a professional player. Hopefully and wishing this year to be different in every aspect, because I know I’m a good person and never said or done anything bad to anyone and people are taking that as advantage and it’s kind of lame but whatever. I just want to compete and be healthy, that's all it matters for me at this point.
poizon, who turned 24 years old yesterday, admits in the statement that his own performance hasn’t been optimal but states that there’s a good reason for that.
Sacrificed himself for the team
- About my performance last year, it hasn't been the best, but it's how it is when you are committed fully to the team and doesn't care at all about your stats and just want to be a good teammate, had some rough times with stand-ins and everything in col/fnatic which I kind of sacrificed a bit of myself just to make sure the team was doing good.
poizon’s career stats:
2017 – 1.03 Rating
2018 – 1.26 Rating
2019 – 1.12 Rating
2020 – 1.05 Rating
2021 – 0.99 Rating
2022 - 0.97 Rating
Looking forward for next year
- I had some motivational issues at one point, but we are all humans and we all have feelings, don't understand me wrong, I’m motivated to play, just when you change players left and right, things are not working, and you make a mistake it's kind of hard to not feel anything. All I’m saying is, I just want things to be different this year, to be healthy and find a home to play for!
