OG qualifies for playoffs after marathon match
The European roster made it four victories in a row at ESL Pro League against SinnerS.
With everything still on the line for all teams in Group B at ESL Pro League, it was a much anticipated Wednesday, that got kickstarted by OG and SinnerS.
Czech team SinnerS was tasked with the tough job of delivering the first blow to OG in the tournament, to maintain their chances of advancing to the playoffs. SinnerS started with a bang against G2 and delivered a very surprising upset on Day 1. But since then Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný and his promising roster ran into two straight defeats to put them in danger of elimination.
SinnerS showed right away on Nuke, that they had understood their situation very well. With both Tomáš 'oskar' Šťastný and Adam 'NEOFRAG' Zouhar in fine form, the Czech's forced the map into overtime, where they eventually took home the victory.
Inferno was OG's map pick. Here it was again SinnerS with a promising start, but in the second half, OG finally got activated and stormed through the defense of SinnerS, who lost 10-1 after the break.
A long tech break delayed the suspense even further before the third and final map. Mirage was the setting. Here SinnerS took the lead once again. But they suddenly lost all momentum at 6-3 up after OG managed to steal a round with some nice and crisp Deagle shots. 6-3 was converted to 6-9, giving OG a perfect push before the last half of the four-hour marathon match.
OG continued to dominate their opponents after the break. The best thing about it for OG was the fact, that it was the entire team, that put up a fight. It ended one-sided with a 16-7 victory, which puts OG through to the playoffs, and leaves SinnerS with small hope of advancement. They will have to wait until the two other matches tonight to know their fate.
