OG eliminate paiN from BLAST Showdown
The Europeans are a step closer to making the Fall Final.
Aleksib and company have eliminated the Brazilians from BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, following a 2-0 victory in the Round of 16. The Europeans will now move on to the Quarter-finals of the tournament where they will face Complexity for a spot in the Semi-finals.
The action of the series started on paiN’s pick of Ancient, where the Brazilians kicked off things on the right foot quickly grabbing a 5-1 lead. But unfortunately for them, OG slowly began to find their footing and grinded out nine rounds in a row to end the first half with a 10-5 advantage. In the second half, paiN climbed back on the scoreboard and managed to lower their deficit to only two rounds, but ultimately fell, losing the map 16-13.
Aleksib’s troops dominated on their own map pick of Inferno, starting on the T-side and running away with an impressive 11-4 half-time lead. The Brazilians simply couldn’t withstand the onslaught from OG who didn’t lay off the gas pedal and cruised to a 16-6 victory to advance further in the tournament.
