Media: NIP interested in Jackinho; dev1ce to extend medical leave
The Swedes are set to miss their star AWPer for a longer period than first expected according to several media outlets.
According to intel obtained by Dexerto and 1pv.cs, Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz is expected to extend his medical leave from competitive CS:GO. That means the Danish superstar won’t attend the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring Groups alongside the rest of NIP - something NIP has confirmed to Dexerto and 1pv.cs.
dev1ce opened up about the situation back in December last year giving some clarification on his break from CS:GO, due to heavy speculations of him leaving NIP for a potential return to Astralis.
- My mental health has taken a hammering this year, for both personal reasons and the pressure that comes with playing professional esports. (…) I have been taking active steps toward recovery and am looking forward to putting in the work that will enable me to get back to the top of my game and be the best version of myself.

The prolonged absence of dev1ce has reportedly made NIP interested in signing Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson as short-term replacement, 1pv.cs and Dextero state in their reports. The 22-year-old Swede is currently without a team, which probably will make it a bit easier to find a potential agreement.
NIP has not at the moment commented on the matter regarding the interest in acquiring Jackinho or confirmed that dev1ce has extended his leave, however, Jonas Gundersen, COO at NIP has posted this Tweet.
