JW on strugglesome period: I have heavily underperformed, and that’s on me and no one else
The sneaky Swede is miles away from hitting his usual top level on the server.
The legendary Swedes from fnatic endures, at the moment, one of their toughest periods since their entry on the CS:GO scene ages ago. The 3-time Major winners has been in poor shape for over a year now, with the profiled team presenting one disappointing result after another – Culminated in two early exits at Flashpoint 3 and ESL Pro League Season 13.
fnatic’s experienced AWPer Jesper “JW” Wecksell has previously been a key factor for their success in the past, however lately, the 26-year-old has been in a major slump, which is clear to see on the server and in his stats.
JW | Stats over the years
2021: 0.85 Rating / 62.3 ADR / 0.81 K-D Ratio
2020: 1.03 Rating / 72.6 ADR / 1.01 K-D Ratio
2019: 1.06 Rating / 75.7 ADR / 1.02 K-D Ratio
JW and fnatic have in a year managed to drop down to #24 on the world ranking, after being #1 in April 2020
JW has in a Twitlonger touched on his own personal performance where he says sorry to their fans for the recent results and assures that he’s doing everything he can to put fnatic at the top of CS:GO again.
- These past tournaments have been incredibly tough for me on the mental side and I have really tried to work on it and continue to work on it, but the brain is a complex thing, most of the times things doesn’t make sense on that part.
I’m not trying to deny the fact that I have heavily underperformed, I really have, and that is on me and no one else. I have always done everything in my power these last 8 years (except for those few months you know...) to put fnatic at the top, and I will continue to do so. What exactly that means for me individually in the future, that we will see.
