Inferno thriller! Astralis beats G2 19-15 in overtime!
The Danes from Astralis bests the impressive performing G2!
The first map had G2 written all over it. With a G2 lead of 11-4 going into the second half, it seemed as if Astralis had given up. However, they didn't give up and managed to claw themselves back into the game. Unfortunately, it was seemingly too late that Astralis found their footing, and with NiKo's absolutely incredible performance with 38 kills, G2 bested Astralis and secured the first map on Dust2 16-11.
The second map took place on Astralis' territory Nuke, and even though they lost the first map, it was clear that Astralis came into Nuke with momentum and an eagerness to defeat the French competitors. With a strong start from the Danes, they managed a lead of 7-1 in the early stages of the game. However, the one-sidedness was soon to end and NiKo's family member HuNter did his absolute best to make G2's presence known. Despite G2's best efforts, it was Astralis to ultimately take the second map 16-12.
This, of course, meant the third map, Inferno. A map that Astralis historically has been phenomenal on. Either of the teams refused to give their competitors an inch, and with the two prior maps being so close and competitive, it seemed only fair that the third was equally as tense. Exchanging rounds the two rosters fought back and forth, seeing who could ultimately outperform the other. An answer to that question wasn't found in regular time, and they headed to overtime. Astralis was, without a doubt, the strongest of the two starting overtime. Without losing a single round in OT, Astralis managed to defeat G2 19-15 and put an end to what was a phenomenal three map thriller!
