Head of Astralis Talent: We are not going to sign the most obvious talents
Astralis wishes to develop new upcoming talents possessing the Astralis DNA.
Newly appointed Head of Talent, Dennis Vang gives his say on the ambitions regarding Astralis Talent in an interview with Dust2.dk.
In the interview, Dennis Vang explains how Astralis Talent and their mission isn’t to sign the biggest and most obvious talents but to do it on their very own way focusing more on the long run. Vang also gives his say on the rumours of a potential signing of the promising AGF player Thomas “TMB” Bundsbæk.
”You can’t write off big talents such as TMB, but it’s not the intention that we will go out and buy the most obvious talents free from their contracts. Of course, those kinds of players are also interesting, but our structure will be more long-term focus. We have to be patient, do the right things and in the right order.”
Astralis reported following their announcement of Astralis Talent that Dennis Vang will be the new Head of Talent but also Assistant coach for the A-team.
Vang explains that even though Astralis won’t try to sign the biggest and most obvious talents, they may seek to sign more experienced and established players. However, their general beliefs and mission will still be to find players with an unsettled potential and make them tier-1 players.
“It will be a process where we may see value in signing a few established talents, but where we also go our own way with other players. It’s equal for everyone around the project that we see a huge unresolved potential based on some of the criteria that we have set up. We already have a base of 50+ players that we keep an eye on, and when we find a player that we think fits into the way we work and a player who we believe can develop to be a potential tier-1 player, then the process starts. Of course, it all depends on the age, whether they are under contract elsewhere or whether there are other we have to relate to.”
