With only a few days of practice as a new roster, G2 has managed to win Group C with style overcoming Astralis 2-0 on the maps Dust2 (16-11) and Nuke (16-13). It got confirmed 20 minutes before the match start, that “zonic” who is the coach of Astralis, had a painful headache and couldn’t help the team in tonight’s game. Instead, Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen took the role as coach, but couldn’t lead the team to a victory.
NiKo delivered an insane performance coming into the last map. The Bosnian star ran over Astralis top fragging both maps of the series with 57 kills in two maps, resulting in a 1.51 rating, and 104.2 ADR, while also dropping a 30 bomb for the second day in a row. The addition of NiKo seems to be just the missing piece that G2 Esports needed.
G2 has secured the higher seed for the Fall Finals with tonight’s victory of the last game in the group stages, finishing at the top of the group.
