es3tag after joining NIP: It will only be a matter of time before we conquer the CS:GO world
Right after his recent transfer to NIP, the Danish rifler sat down with us to talk about the potential of the team and why he joined.
Wednesday evening, the iconic Swedes from NIP announced the signing of the25-year-old Dane Patrick ‘es3tag’ Hansen arriving from the abandoned ship of Complexity. The powerful rifler is expected to jump directly into the already profiled lineup, as he will replace the youngster Linus ‘LNZ’ Holtäng.
Bringing in a force like es3tag, proves that NIP is extremely devoted and very determined to bring their CS:GO division back to the top of the game, where the NIP coach, Björn "THREAT" Pers believes es3tag’s abilities will be “key to taking us to the next level"
We got the opportunity to have a chat with Patrick ‘es3tag’ Hansen to hear about his expectations and what attracted him in the deal with NIP and why he believes the current #1 team in the world in NAVI should be scared.
- It means the world to me, the fact that I was able to get the opportunity with this huge organization and legendary team. (…) Signing with NIP was super attractive for me because I want to win. And that’s something I haven’t tasted since I left Astralis.
- After being on the server with the guys, I can truly see the potential of this team and I think it will be huge. I think we can take it all the way, also me personally. The roles on the team are a perfect fit, so I think it’s only a matter of time before we conquer the CS:GO world – and NAVI should be careful, es3tag confidently states.

Taking on a supportive role
As earlier mentioned es3tag is set to take over from LNZ, who will re-join the academy team Young Ninjas, where the Danish rifler explains that he will occupy a more supportive role in the lineup. With that being said, es3tag point out that he will do some calling in the server as well.
- I’m going to be a support/lurker on the team. I will also get to call on my side of the map to make sure everything goes smoothly when we execute on sites but also make sure to throw the right flashes and smokes as well. I’m okay having the support role because I know we have some stars in REZ and dev1ce. For me, finding that consistency will be key, and I’m expecting to go really far with NIP.
You can watch the entire interview with NIP's new ninja down below to hear him go into detail about "The New NIP", a tough period before the transfer, and his thoughts about Hampus' playstyle.
An electrifying debut
es3tag will get his debut at the upcoming BLAST Premier Fall Final next week, against no other than his former employers from Astralis. The thrilling opening round matchup will also feature the first BO3 battle between the Danish mastodon and the superstar AWPer dev1ce, since his transfer in April this year.
