dev1ce before potential Astralis matchup: I would love to play against them

The profiled NIP player hasn't played against his former teammates from Astralis yet - Maybe that's changed on Sunday!

In April this year, the superstar AWPer Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz decided to leave Astralis, as he went overseas to join Ninjas in Pyjamas. The Swedish organization reportedly paid around $ 1 Million for the dominant Dane and his signature.

dev1ce and his former teammates from Astralis have managed to avoid each other for every single event since the transfer, meaning that the 26-year-old hasn’t faced off against dupreeh and company yet - However, this could change at the ongoing IEM Fall, if both NIP and Astralis manage to secure a spot at the Grand Final on Sunday.

In a press session, held by ESL, dev1ce talks about a potential matchup against Astralis and what it will mean for him personally.

 - We have managed to dodge each other for all tournaments now, but I would love to play against them. I still speak with them a lot, pretty much on a daily basis – especially at tournaments. I think they did well (in the group stage), but they probably overperformed a bit in terms of their expectations. It will be funny to see what that they are going to do with the lineup going into the Major, where gla1ve probably will be back.

If we are going to face them in this event, it’s going to be in the finals – which will be a win-win for both teams, I would say, dev1ce states.

They probably overperformed a bit - dev1ce on Astralis' 5-0 run at IEM Fall.

dev1ce ended up winning no more than 24 big titles with Astralis - Here at BLAST Pro Series São Paulo

dev1ce on his recent form and performance

In the same press session, dev1ce also opens up about his rather unusual lacklustre performance at ESL Pro League S14, where both he and NIP didn’t live up to their own expectations.

- The last Pro League was pretty disappointing for me. Being in the game for so long, I haven’t really had a bad tournament yet, which is kind of spoiled in some way, dev1ce said and continued to explain what he had done to improve his game going into IEM Fall:

- I think, I just worked harder and changed up some stuff for my routines outside of the game. I’ve been trying to disconnect more from Counter-Strike, because of me getting way too tunnel-visioned on only CS.

When we play, I try to be more dynamic and looking at some of the other players. I also think that the most important thing to achieve consistency in CS:GO is confidence. I’m working on that aspect and on how to maintain confidence, while being in a slump – it might only be one tournament, but I still consider it as a slump, dev1ce said in the ESL press session.

The NIP superstar has been firing on all cylinders so far at IEM Fall and has been a key part in the Swedes’ 5-0 run in the group stage. dev1ce has posted a stellar 1.45 Rating / 90.0 ADR scoreline so far, being ranked as the second-highest-rated player.

dev1ce and company will play their next match at IEM Fall on Thursday at 17:00 (CET), where they will take on Movistar Riders in the quarterfinals.
