Copenhagen Flames delivers first upset at IEM Fall Europe
The Danish team took down FunPlus Phoenix in the opening round of Group A.
An impressive T-side on Vertigo put Copenhagen Flames in the driver's seat against FPX.
The Danes were trailing 9-6 at the break, but with a fantastic performance in the second half of the match, Flames secured an important win in Group A with a 16-12 victory. Jakob "Jabbi" Nygaard was the key player for Copenhagen Flames with a stellar performance. For FunPlus Phoenix the defeat is no short of a catastrophe. The FPX roster now has a difficult route to the playoffs after a loss to the Danes.
G2 was also back in action. The Balkan/French roster overcame both technical difficulties and the young Swedish roster from AURA to secure themselves a good start and three points. G2 won the first half 14-1 on Ancient and followed through to secure the victory. It was the three Balkan players, NiKo, huNter-, and nexa who powered the G2 roster in the match. All teams are back in action tomorrow at the same time.
