A closer look: Astralis tops the charts at IEM Beijing-Haidian
After the conclusion to IEM Beijing, statistics tell another story about the performances made at the event.
While Team Vitality finally managed to win a big final in 2020, we have taken a closer look at the numbers behind the tournament at IEM Beijing-Haidian.
The early exit of Astralis in the quarterfinal against NAVI took a lot of people by surprise. And rightly so.
The Danish roster had performed very well at the tournament as a team. The numbers put Astralis in the top 5 at:
Round won 57.5% (1st)
Opening kills 52,7 % (4th)
Multi kills pr round pr team 0.84 (3rd)
5 vs 4 situations 77,3 % (3rd)
4 vs 5 situations 35.4 (1st)
Traded kills 21,1 % (5th)
Damage pr. round with utility 31,6 (2nd)
Flash assists 0.29 (2nd)
All good indicators that the Danish team was not far from the beat in the tournament.
The individual levels were however not enough to match NAVI in their encounter. The CIS team outperformed every single one of the Astralis players on the day, which led to the early departure for Astralis.
It is not the first time in history, that the Danes tops the charts for the best team play during a tournament. Watch this highlight reel to see, what makes them so dangerous as a team.
