Astralis set to miss out on IEM Katowice after Grand Final loss
The ramifications of the loss in the Final of the CCT Central Europe Series 4 could be monumental for the Danes.
The race for the last tickets to the Play-in stage at IEM Katowice has proven to be somewhat of a drama at the end of the year.
The invitation date for all teams participating is set today, when the latest changes to the rankings will be updated. Due to the lack of results in the second part of the season and because Astralis has replaced Asger "farlig" Jensen with Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz (who has not earned almost any points in 2022 due to inactivity), Astralis find themselves just outside the list of teams with enough ESL points to qualify for the Play-in stage.
That could have changed with a victory last night at the CCT Central Europe Series 4. In the Grand Final Astralis faced Copenhagen Flames with the latter winning after a three-map-thriller.
While no official confirmation has been given from ESL, several people have reached the same conclusion about the race for Katowice.
It is expected to be confirmed later today when ESL announces the leaderboard standings.
