Astralis coach on dev1ce: We should not expect these kinds of numbers from him every time
Peter “casle” Ardenskjold has given a statement on dev1ce's impressive comeback.
Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz returned with a bang for Astralis when he played his first minutes of competitive CS:GO this year this Sunday.
In his first two matches since coming back, dev1ce averaged a striking 31.25 kills per map and a likewise impressive 1.43 rating against Tricked and HEET respectively.
The interim coach at Astralis, Peter “casle” Ardenskjold, were also super happy about dev1ce’s performance but he also explains that the team can’t rely too much on individual performances going forward.
- We entered the tournament to get some valuable game time together as a team to get used to new roles, and to show a good performance. Result-wise, going out in the quarter final is of course disappointing, but the errors we made are fixable, casle said in a statement to Astralis.
"We can’t put all the pressure on single players"
- The good part is the way we adapted to the role changes – and the impact of having dev1ce back on the team. His performance was everything we hoped for, and then some. The stats are one thing, the teamwork and contribution to the team is of equal value. We should not expect these kinds of numbers from him every time, and we can’t put all the pressure on single players, but having more players delivering like this, surely gives you a lot of perspectives, going forward, casle concluded.
