Astralis coach on CS2: The most significant changes are in how we use utilities
Peter "casle" Ardenskjold and Astralis will make their debut in CS2 tomorrow at Roobet Cup.
While several top-tier teams got their first glimpse of competitive CS in the new game at IEM Sydney, Astralis has had time to practice Counter-Strike 2 a bit more from home.
In a pre-match interview on Astralis.gg, head coach Peter "casle" Ardenskjold commented on the preparations for the upcoming Roobet Cup 2023.
- First and foremost, it's about getting on the server and understanding CS2 from a competitive perspective. We need to establish where we stand as a team and unit in CS2 compared to CS:GO, and to be able to do that, we must be ready to engage in battle from the first round. It is hard to predict, but I believe and expect we will perform well in this online tournament, says Casle.
The Astralis roster has had two weeks of practice in the new game, where the primary focus has been to build a strong map pool. The different use of utility has also been one of the things, that the players of Astralis has been confronted with on the server.
- The most significant changes are in how we use utilities. Using an HE grenade to manipulate smoke for clearer vision is an exciting addition to the game and will be widely used as teams learn the best strategies for CS2, Peter "casle" Ardenskjold stated.
Astralis will face 9INE tomorrow at Roobet Cup 2023.
