Winstrike eliminate MIBR
The Brazilian squad has been eliminated from Snow Sweet Snow 2 following a 0-2 defeat against Winstrike.
Winstrike are through to the Quarter-finals at Snow Sweet Snow 2 after taking down MIBR with a clean 2-0 victory in the first round of the playoffs. The Russian-side are set to face off against Cloud9 on Tuesday at 15:00 (CET) in another elimination match where the winner will move on to the semi-finals.
Both teams followed each other in the first half on Mirage where Winstrike were 1 round up before switching sides. MIBR’s defense couldn’t catch up with the Russian-side who successfully kept finding openings and stormed through to close out the map 16-9.
The Russian-side came out strong at the beginning of the second map and continued with their good control of the pace. MIBR only grabbed 3 rounds on CT-side before halftime and despite stringing 7 rounds together after losing the pistol round, chelo and company didn’t manage to make the comeback as Winstrike closed out the map 16-12.
