Brazilian Festa in Shanghai – MIBR Ready for Elimination Stage
Three of the four Brazilian teams competing at the Shanghai Major have successfully advanced from the Opening Stage.
MIBR joined FURIA and paiN in the next stage of the Perfect World Shanghai Major after an emphatic victory over FlyQuest in the final round of the Opening Stage.
The match began with MIBR asserting dominance on Nuke, securing a commanding 13-4 victory. Rafael 'saffee' Costa delivered an outstanding performance, posting an 18-6 scoreline and leading his team to a flawless start. The momentum carried over to Inferno, where MIBR continued their relentless form. FlyQuest struggled to find any answers against the well-oiled Brazilian squad, which kept the Australians on the back foot throughout the map. Inferno concluded with a decisive 13-5 scoreline in favor of MIBR.
The victory marked a historic milestone for Brazil, as the Shanghai Major is the first time in the tournament’s history that three Brazilian teams have reached the Elimination Stage of a Major.
Later today, Wildcard and Passion UA will face off in the final match of the Opening Stage to determine the last team to secure a spot in the next phase of the tournament.
