Australians out of IEM Katowice after disappointing decider map
MIBR and Grayhound had an excellent fight going, but that all ended on Vertigo.
It was a game of comebacks as the Australians from Grayhound fought MIBR for the chance to face Fnatic tomorrow in the last qualification match for the main event at IEM Katowice.
MIBR was the first team to turn the tides during the match. They could see themselves 11-13 down on Inferno with Grayhound having all the momentum. But then the Brazilians woke up and won the last six five rounds in a row to steal Grayhounds map pick away.
On Anubis, it was Grayhound's turn to initiate a fine comeback. Down 9-14, it looked like MIBR would run away with the victory, but then the Australians found out to continuously attack the A-site of Anubis, where MIBR had huge problems defending. Grayhound won Anubis 16-14.
But here the fun stopped. On Vertigo MIBR steamrolled Grayhound and crushed them 16-2. The Australians leave IEM Katowice for the second year in a row at the Play-in stage, while MIBR face Fnatic tomorrow.
