FURIA win first LAN title in four years
The Brazilian roster claimed the trophy at Elisa Masters Espoo with a win against Apeks.
A four-year title drought ended for FURIA last night with a 3-1 win in the Grand Final at Elisa Masters Espoo in Finland.
Apeks was the opponent in the first bo5 final of CS2 on LAN in history. FURIA won Inferno, Vertigo, and Mirage to win the event and the $100,000 in prize money.
Marcelo 'chelo' Cespede and Kaike 'KSCERATO' Cerato were the two highest-rated players for FURIA in the Grand Final with Gabriel 'FalleN' Toledo as a solid wingman for the duo. On the other side of the server, Tim 'nawwk' Jonasson delivered another good performance, which eventually secured him the MVP title for the tournament.
FURIA won a couple of titles in the online era during the COVID-19 pandemic but has not won a LAN title since September 2019, when the Brazilians won the Artic Invitational 2019 tournament which was also held in Finland.
