NIP secure opening win at BLAST over BIG

In the earlier match, G2 got the victory against MIBR with 2-0 in the BLAST group B opener. The favorites from G2 got a shaky start on the first map, Mirage and it was far from an easy affair that many had expected. Despite their best efforts, MIRB succumbed to the G2, securing the first map. In the second map on Inferno, NiKo and company clinched a much cleaner win with a solid performance to lock down the series.

NIP secured the second BLAST Premier Fall Groups B opening match with a 2-0 victory over BIG. Device and company will be taking upon G2 in an upper-bracket final on Tuesday for a spot in the Fall finals.

The series started with BIG’s map pick on Dust 2, which didn’t go well for tabseN and company, as they were not able to find success on their map pick, only taking four rounds on their T side. NIP’s defense was just too strong for BIG, who struggle to find gaps, and hampus's troops cruised to an 11-4 half for the Swedish Ninjas. NIP kept their momentum and the situation got worse for BIG as they struggled to find their footing on the CT side, only being able to claim five rounds before the Swedish team closing the map 16- 9.

NIP got off to a similarly good start on their map pick, Inferno. They were winning their pistol and converting with an ace from REZ to set themselves up for a strong half. With confidence carrying over from the victory on Dust 2, it was also NIP to have full control of Inferno. NIP was able to thrive in a comfortable lead, 0-6, before tabseN and company had their moments in the spotlight to shrink the gap before switching to the defense, 6-9 in the favor of NIP. REZ’s men were not looking to slow down and they orchestrated a flawless T side, not giving up a single round securing the map 16-6.
