NiP advance to the Upper Final of Group A
Ninjas in Pyjamas have secured their first victory without “device” in the 2022 season
The second opening match of Group A at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022 event was between BIG and NiP. Neither of the two teams will begin their 2022 season with the same roster as they ended 2021. BIG have acquired a new signing in “faveN” to replace “XANTARES”, whereas a young “phzy” will seek to fill the shoes of a “device” who is currently on medical leave at NiP. The two teams decided on Overpass as their common ground, a map that is very familiar to the side of NiP.
Despite Overpass quite possibly being the optimal pick for the Ninjas in Pyjamas it was their opponents in BIG to take the early lead as the aggressors on their T-side. The well-oiled German Machine of BIG managed to create an impressive 6-0 lead before being answered back by the Scandinavian Ninjas in Pyjamas. Known for their comeback abilities, NiP finally woke up and made the scoreline as close as possible at 8-7 going into the second half of Overpass. Carrying over the momentum of the first half it was NiP to quickly gain control on their T-side. This time it was BIG to try and muster up a comeback and regain control as they found themselves behind at 12-8 due to a stellar T-sided start from NiP. The Germans of BIG failed to do what NiP had done in the first half of Overpass and was bested by the Ninjas at the scoreline of 16-12.
