Heroic is ready to play in their first major final!
Heroic is playing in the Major Final at IEM Rio Major against Outsiders.
The second semi-final of the day was between the Danes from Heroic vs. FURIA the home team who yesterday beet NAVI 2-1.
The first map of the semi-final was the map choice of Heroic. Inferno is and has been one of their safe picks doing this Major in Rio. Coming off to a good start was the Danish team as they managed to find the first pistol round doing map one. Despite getting a quick 3-0 in favor of the Danes, the Brazilians started to show why they were the favorites going into the match. Seven rounds in a row for art and co. was what it took to bring home a 6-9 half to the FURIA side. On The T side, yuurih and art kept on playing their game as FURIA saw themselves taking all seven rounds on the T side to take map one 6-16.
The second map came out on Ancient. A map that FURIA just send NAVI home on. Heroic once again took the first pistol round of the match as they took an early 2-0 lead. FURIA started to play great CS leaving no room for the Danes to breathe on the CT side. Coming up 3-5 was FURIA before Heroic started to fire back at the Brazilians. A momentum swing came into play as Heroic took the last seven out of seven possible rounds on the CT side, giving them the edge with a solid 10-5 CT side on FURIA´s map pick. Heroic kept playing their style of CS as stavn and cadiaN brought home some intense rounds to make the game 15-5. Suddenly FURIA started to take the momentum in their favor as they first got three rounds to make it 15-7, then three more followed by four more rounds to make the arena go crazy. 15-14 was the score line when mid-round looked like Heroic was going to destroy the comeback from FURIA, but KSCERATO single-handedly took down Heroic to bring the game into overtime. Despite the insane comeback from FURIA, Heroic found their early rounds mentality and brought home the second map 19-17.
Nuke was the decider left over in the VETO. The Danes managed to keep the tempo high as they took the pistol once again. Eight rounds in and Heroic was up 8-1 on the T side of Nuke. A T side that got the danish team the perfect standpoint switching over to the CT side as they managed to get 10 rounds as terrorists. A quiet arena and sad Brazilian faces were all we saw watching the last rounds of play. Heroic dominated FURIA on the CT side taking six out of six rounds to win the game and qualify for the grand final at the IEM Rio Major where they will be facing Outsiders who took down MOUZ just hours earlier.
