NIP are the victors of IEM Fall Europe!
A stellar performance by dev1ce helped the dominant Swedes to secure the title at the last RMR event.
IEM Fall Europe, the last Regional Major Ranking tournament of the year has been concluded, as the strong Swedes from NIP grabbed the victory in the Grand Final against ENCE. Going into the match, there wasn’t much to play for owing to both teams’ places in the RMR standings being unchangeable.
The Bo5 Grand Final began on NIP’s map pick of Overpass and it proved quickly that NIP was the better and stronger team on that map, which the statistics also implied before the match. Especially one player was stepping up for his team – That was of course – Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz.
The NIP superstar was firing on all cylinders throughout the majority of the series, with Overpass being no different. The Danish power AWPer ended the map on a 1.67 Rating / 26-12 K-D scoreboard.
On the second map, dev1ce and the rest of NIP took a bit of a blunder. Through an excellent T-side, ENCE dismantled NIP on Mirage, being a map which in fact was completely similar to the first - A dominant T-side first half, followed by a quick and swift CT defence after the switch.
Despite, winning Mirage and setting the score on 1-1, ENCE quickly lost momentum on NIP’s second pick on Ancient. The tropic surroundings didn’t do any good for the Finnish side, with NIP’s impressive comeback from 7-13 to the 16-14 victory looking to be deciding factor in the Grand Final.
After the great comeback, NIP looked completely dominant and the match quickly turned into a very one-sided affair. Something, that meant NIP easily could secure the IEM Fall trophy by winning Nuke 16-6, to set the overall score at 3-1.
