BIG eliminate HAVU from FunSpark
A World-Class performance from XANTARES paved the way for BIG.
Berlin International Gaming (BIG) has been one of the big disappointments of 2021. But during FunSpark ULTI Europe 2020 Final, the German team has shown improvements.
In the lower bracket final against HAVU, they dominated their Finnish counterparts throughout the match.
On Mirage it was one-way action from start until the end. Both Johannes 'tabseN' Wodarz and Ismailcan 'XANTARES' Dörtkardeş was out of control, which left HAVU with a mountain to climb. 11-4 at the break was converted to a 16-5 win.
HAVU had a trick in their sleeve though. The Finnish roster had managed to get their favorite map into the veto. With an 85% win rate over 13 maps on Train, HAVU fancied their chance on the rails. But they were in for a surprise.
BIG had only played the map once in the last three months, but on their CT-side, the Germans came out strong with a 10-5 lead at the break. For a while it looked like HAVU would make the comeback in the second half, but then XANTARES turned up in style and helped his team to make the last push to win the map and match.
