HAVU bench sLowi and continue rebuilding phase
The Finnish organization has said goodbye for now to countryman "sLowi"
Since Head Coach Taneli "disturbed" Veikkola parted ways with HAVU at the end of May, another change within HAVU's CS:GO division has been made. It has just been announced that Olli "sLowi" Pitkänen has been benched at the Finnish organization and that he is set to join free agency in August. The change marks the end of a four-year-long partnership between "sLowi" and HAVU.
CEO of HAVU, Lasse Salminen, states in the official announcement that he has been more than pleased with experiences the two parties have shared over the course of the years:
"We've experienced many bad and happy moments together, celebrated many trophies together,"
The HAVU CEO carries on to explain that the decision to bench "sLowi" was made due to a difficult start to the 2022 season and lackluster results from their CS:GO roster:
"Due to difficult first half of 2022 we face big changes with our CS:GO team. This means us having to give sLowi a farewell."
The decision to bench "sLowi" seem to only be the start of what is becoming a rebuilding phase for the Finnish organization. There is good reason to believe that "sLowi" isn't the only player that is being let go from HAVU:
"This isn't the only change happening and we will update you once final decisions have been made. I want to thank sLowi for these years together and wish him all the best in future!"
The current HAVU roster looks as follows:
Sami "xseveN" Laasanen
Jani "Aerial" Jussila
Otto "ottoNd" Sihvo
Joona "Sm1ille" Holmström
Olli "sLowi" Pitkänen (benched)
