BetBoom Eliminates SAW to Reach Seventh-Place Decider at Europe RMR A
Despite a good start to the RMR for SAW, the Portuguese team failed to secure qualification for the Shanghai Major.
BetBoom secured a decisive 2-0 victory over SAW in the Europe RMR A, winning both Vertigo and Ancient 13-9. This result eliminates SAW from the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 contention, while BetBoom advances to the seventh-place decider for the final European slot at the Major.
BetBoom's decisive performance
Led by Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov, BetBoom displayed tactical superiority. On Vertigo, SAW initially led 9-3, with standout performances from Michel "ewjerkz" Pinto and João "story" Vieira, but BetBoom's flawless second half, winning ten consecutive rounds, secured the map. Ancient followed a similar pattern, with BetBoom dominating early and holding off SAW's late comeback attempts, thanks to key plays by Aleksandr "KaiR0N-" Anashkin and Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko.
SAW’s struggles
Despite their success at ESL Challenger Katowice, SAW faltered at RMR A, struggling with defensive cohesion and losing critical 1v1 situations. The team showed glimpses of potential but could not replicate their earlier tournament form losing two bo3 matches in a row to be eliminated.
BetBoom now faces the seventh-place decider, a high-stakes match that will determine their Major qualification.
