arT: You can’t play competitive CS:GO on the current version of Ancient
The Brazilian IGL lash out at Valve, as he believes that the new map already needs extensive changes.
If you’re into Counter-Strike and follow the scene, you can’t possibly have missed that Valve earlier this week, announced a major change to competitive CS:GO. The game developer decided to change up the map pool for the first time since 2019, with the rather unknown map of Ancient replacing the iconic Train.
The announcement caused a massive outcry for certain members of the community. Not because of the decision to change the map pool, but because of the actual choice of maps.
Something, FURIA’s in-game leader and captain, Andrei “arT” Piovezan joins in on, as the Brazilian player states that Ancient “already need changes just to make it competitive and also fun to play”. arT continues by saying that he loves the idea of map pool changes, however, he doesn't think that you should "playtest" on a new map "when there's so much at stake".
Ancient will very soon be a part of the competitive map pool in CS:GO.
