Akuma destroys NAVI in s1mple's worst performance
The Ukrainian roster managed to upset NAVI in a spectacular fashion.
In one of the biggest upsets of the year, Natus Vincere lost their opening match in the playoffs at EPIC CIS League to Akuma, a team ranked 47th in the world.
The show started on Mirage with Akuma accumulating a gigantic 12-0 lead before Perfecto clutched to put Natus Vincere on the scoreboard. It ended 16-2 with s1mple putting in his worst performance in history since joining NAVI with a 0.20 score! The Ukrainian superstar went 5-16 against his countrymen.
The shock result on Mirage had barely sunken in before NAVI found themselves 13-5 down on their own map pick Dust2. An insane scoreline given the fact, that s1mple had actually found himself again and was putting in the usual top-tier performance. But on a day where nothing seemed to pan out the way of NAVI, it was Akuma who could take home an impressive victory, after they managed to stop a Natus Vincere comeback in the end.
Akuma will now face Virtus.pro in the next stage of EPIC CIS League, while NAVI drops down to the lower bracket.
