Academy player join FURIA in bootcamp
The captain of FURIA Academy Leonardo “zmb” Toledo will link up with the main team in Serbia.
The 21-year-old will get the chance to learn from the main team’s stars and hopefully push his development further. It was announced on Monday that “zmb” will travel to the team’s bootcamp in Belgrade, Serbia, after a good period where he has impressed while playing in domestic competitions.
“zmb” has been a part of the academy setup since July and in September, he led his team to a final victory in the Logitech G Challenge against his former squad of Alma.
“One can notice that you’re one of the most dedicated and hard-working players on the team. Working hard and striving for improvement is part of FURIA’s DNA. You’ll learn how we do things and perhaps you’ll also be able to help us by analyzing our games with a critical eye, so I think this will be a very cool process.” FURIA’s captain Andrei “arT” Piovezan said.
One of the main investors in the organization confirmed that the move is unrelated to the search for a sixth player: “We are searching for a sixth player, but that’s not what we’re doing here. What we want to do is to help in your development so that you can have the conditions in the future to be the sixth player. This is not a test, it’s an internship for you.” André Akkari explained.
FURIA are looking to join the growing list of teams who have expanded their rosters during this online era.
