After his transfer from Ninjas in Pyjamas to GODSENT, Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora is setting his sights high. In a [link:{"url":"https://www.hltv.org/news/35681/plopski-this-change-was-good-both-for-nip-and-also-for-me","isNewTab":true,"text":"recent interview with HLTV"}], the Swedish rifler revealed that he is aiming to become a Top 20 player in the world. Plopski also shared his goals for the team, stating that their objective is to push themselves to become a consistent Tier 2 team.

“Individually I would say to become a Top 20 player eventually and grow as a player and be a player people could look up to, but my main goal and focus will always be the team. My goals for the team are to push ourselves into the Top 20 rankings and be a consistent tier two team in the start. This is probably gonna take a while and we all know this in the team, because we built this team for the future and we are being realistic here that it might take some time for us to get to the point we want to be at.”

While Plopski acknowledges that achieving their goals may take some time, he is confident in the team’s ability to work towards their goals. He also spoke about his role on the team, stating that he is now more of an entry fragger and space maker compared to his previous role as a support/anchor on the NiP roster. Despite the adjustment, Plopski feels more comfortable in his current position and is determined to continue improving and growing as a player.

“My role is more of an entry fragger/space maker in GODSENT, whereas in NiP it was as a support/anchor in the end at least. I am way more comfortable in my roles in GODSENT, but it is also taking a little bit of adjustment for me to get used to the new roles, but I know that this is where I am more comfortable.”

With Plopski’s determination and ambition, it will be interesting to see how he and the rest of GODSENT will perform in the coming months as they work towards their goals.

For the first time since 2018, GODSENT is now again an all-Swedish team.

The roster was announced on Friday as the new GODSENT team. The new team is a mix of youth and experience and will have the former Fnatic in-game leader Maikil "Golden" Selim as their coach.

Most notable is the return to Swedish Counter-Strike, where GODSENT initially started out. Since then the Organization has employed both an International roster, while turning to Brazilian CS in 2021 and 2022. Also notable is the fact that the team's in-game leader Erik "ztr" Gustafsson is joining the roster on a loan deal from Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The media outlet state that the iconic organization already has signed contracts with the likes of Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzales Zamora and Erik "ztr" Gustafsson.

The three other players will allegedly be Joel "joel" Holmlund, Alfred "RuStY" Karlsson, and the AWPer William "draken" Sundin.

The most profiled players in this mix are undoubtedly Plopski and draken. Both Swedes have been a part of Ninjas in Pyjamas and played several tier-1 events throughout their careers, with Plopski still being under contract with NIP officially.

Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen will be the new in-game leader on Ninjas in Pyjamas with the Finnish captain joining from G2. To make room for Aleksib, the Swedes have decided to cut Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez from the active roster after more than three years of service.

- Ninjas in Pyjamas needs to be a team you can count on making deep runs and we’ve made good progress on this the past few years, but the road there is long and hard. When there’s sign of stagnation, new energy might be needed to keep progressing and we think the timing is right to make a larger change than usual: brining on Aleksib as IGL and moving our communication to English.

Ninja in Pyjamas booked one of the last tickets from the BLAST Fall Groups with their victory against Heroic.

After the match, we spoke with rifler Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora, who ended up being the highest-rated NIP player during the event.

- I have felt better than usual, and I just wanted to give it my all to qualify for the (Royal) Arena, Plopski explained while pointing out, that he and REZ had switched positions on the last map of Overpass, where NIP earlier on in BLAST has had their issues.

The first quarter-final saw NIP take on FaZe. The two battled it out through three very different maps.

The Bo3 kicked off on FaZe's pick of Nuke, a brave choice considering that NIP had very recently reamed FURIA with a fantastic CT side.

The first half started out great for the Ninjas who went up 5-0. From this point, FaZe started finding success, and the half ended decently close at 9-6, despite NIP looking in control most of the time, especially with a solid performance from "Plopski" on the A-site.

As FaZe turned to the CT side, they dominated from start to finish only allowing the Ninjas to get one round and no other bomb plants. Much of the credit through this map had to go to the two veterans of the team "rain", and "karrigan", who were responsible for a large percentage of overall and opening kills.

After the disappointing T side on Nuke, the Ninjas performed far better on their own pick of Overpass. Leading the attacks for the Swedes were "Brollan" and "hampus" who regularly found holes in the defense and exploited them to perfection. NIP had seven rounds at halftime.

The second half was almost as close as the first but after 29 rounds of play, the duo of "Brollan" and "hampus" had led their team to victory.

On the defense in the third and final map of Inferno, it was once again "Brollan" and "hampus" that was doing the heavy lifting for the Ninjas who took a solid 8-3 lead. Unfortunately for the Swedes, FaZe had a late half resurgence which meant they only had a single-round lead at halftime.

As FaZe turned to the CT side they made an almost identical repeat of Nuke. They once again completely shut out the Ninjas, the difference however was that this time it was the young star-trio of "ropz", "Twistzz", and "broky" that broke the dreams of the Swedes. FaZe grabbed every single second-half round and are bound for the semi-finals!

A playoff spot was on the line when the Ninjas In Pyjamas took on FURIA. It looked ly a close matchup on paper, but the Brazilians had a hard time containing the Scandinavians.

The action began on Nuke, the pick of FURIA, but the Brazilians would quickly come to regret that. Led by "Plopski", the Ninjas shut down everything the FURIA squad threw at them, and without any hiccups secured the first map at 16-2.

NIP were still going strong as they arrived on their map pick of Inferno. They got off to a great early start on the T side, with a 5-1 lead, but "KSCERATO" and a reinvigorated FURIA finally fought back and took the halftime lead at 8-7.

The Ninjas took over the game as they arrived on the CT side. With "Brollan" doing great work in Banana, FRUIA struggled to find openings. The Brazilians only took two rounds before being pushed out of the server by the Ninjas.

With the win, NIP secure a place in the playoffs while FURIA will have an all-or-nothing match tomorrow.

Group A has been a pure joy ride for Ninjas in Pyjamas so far. Today they took their fourth victory in a row with a 2-1 win against Looking For Org. The victory catapults the Swedes directly into the Quarter-Finals at ESL Pro League.

NIP was a huge favorite before the match started, and it was, therefore, no surprise that they were in control for the majority of the match. On Nuke it got rough for the Australians in the first half that left them trailing 2-13 before NIP cruised home the victory.

For Looking For Org ESL Pro League has been a big learning experience. So far they had won one map during the first three matches. On Overpass they had the chance to win another. On their CT-side they established a 9-6 lead at the break.

NIP took back the lead 12-9 before LFO found an answer. But this time the Australians went all-in. And with a perfect finish to the map, Looking For Org equalized the score.

Ancient proved to be too difficult for the Aussies. NIP has been one of the most solid teams on the new map, and the Swedes had no trouble grinding down LFO. An 11-4 lead at the break was quickly converted to a 16-4 win.

LFO is now without any chance of qualifying but has one match left tomorrow, while NIP has locked in their Quarter-Final spot at ESL Pro League.

The Ninjas In Pyjamas took their second victory in a row today, and a big reason for this was the marvelous performance that Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora delivered. The Swedes were able to take down Entropiq in just two maps, whereafter "Plopski" could rise proudly with a 1.42 rating for the series. Most notably "Plopski" won an absolutely pivotal 1v4 clutch on the B-site of Overpass.

- It was not supposed to be like this! The words from the commentators of the match between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Entropiq told the tale of an unusual one-sided match that was supposed to be an all-even affair.

The blowout started on Nuke, where NIP managed to win 10 rounds in a row to completely shut down Entropiq on their own map pick.

The Swedish Ninjas only gave 11 rounds away yesterday against Fnatic, but today they had the opportunity to do it even better after winning Nuke 16-5 and going up 12-3 on Overpass in the first half. An unreal start to the tournament from NIP, who could enjoy several good performances from their players throughout the match with Plopski stealing the headlines with an incredible 1vs4 clutch that slowed Entropiq down after they had gotten off to a good start in the second half.

NIP won the map 16-7 and is now 2-0 in Group A, while Entropiq is 1-1. Both teams will be back in action tomorrow.

Ninjas in Pyjamas stay alive at the lower bracket at IEM Katowice. In the last match of the day at the tournament, the Swedes took care of MOUZ in two quick maps.

NIP won both halves on MOUZ's map pick, Vertigo to steal the first map. On Ancient the dominance continued, especially in the second half on NIP's CT side. Here the Swedes won all rounds to eliminate MOUZ from the tournament. 

In the lower bracket final in Group A, NIP will face Gambit. A rematch of the first round of the tournament, where NIP won 2-1 against the CIS team. The match will be played tomorrow at 16.00 (CET). The winner advance to the quarter-finals next week in the Spodek Arena.

The last two matches of the day and the last two chances to secure a spot at IEM Katowice had MOUZ going up against Entropiq, while NIP took on Movistar Riders.

The Bo3 started on MOUZ’s pick of Vertigo and saw the European squad take an early lead of 3-1 on their T-side. The Russians of Entropiq answered back fast, and soon the score was tied at 4-4. The rest of the half was extremely one-sided as stand-in “JDC”, and IGL “dexter” kept finding opening frags, which resulted in a satisfying 10-5 lead at halftime for MOUZ.

Entropiq torpedoed their way back into the map as soon as they hit the T-side, seven of the first eight rounds after the break, thereby taking back the lead. MOUZ threw a couple of different looks at the Russians, which netted them some early map control and frags, which saw them secure map point at 15-14. Entropiq weren’t able to push the map into overtime, and MOUZ take the map win after thirty rounds.

Down 0-1 in maps, Entropiq got off to a great 3-0 start on their map pick of Ancient. But the CT-side of Ancient can sometimes be very dominant, and that’s what MOUZ started showing after their bad start. It was once again “JDC” and “dexter” leading the way, with solid B-site holds, while “torzsi” also had a great performance on the AWP. This resulted in a ten-round win streak for MOUZ before the Russians were able to stop the streak and take the last two rounds for themselves.

The European squad continued their dominance in the second half and quickly found themselves at map- and match point, with nine rounds to close it out. Entropiq weren’t able to make the miracle comeback, and MOUZ steal the Russians’ map pick at 16-6.

MOUZ thereby secure their spot at IEM Katowice, while Entropiq will have to watch from the sidelines.

On the b-stream, we had NIP playing versus Movistar Riders, and it was the Swedes that came out on top after taking down the Spaniards in two maps. 

The action began on Movistar's pick of Vertigo where NIP were able to secure the win at 16-9. The stand-out performer was the always consistent IGL Hampus "hampus" Poser who greatly influenced the game with his impact. The score was dead-even at halftime at 8-7, but as soon as NIP hit the T-side they blew away the competition.

The second map of Overpass was even more lopsided than the first one, as the Swedes were able to win that at 16-6. Movistar Riders did start out best taking the lead 2-0 and 3-1, but after that, it was all downhill for them as the Ninjas mowed them down. Especially Patrick "es3tag" Hansen and Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora had a great game, which facilitated the extremely dominating win for the Swedes.

NIP thereby secured their spot at IEM Katowice, while Movistar Riders had to leave empty-handed.

With Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz still sidelined as he recovers from mental health issues, the stand-in player for Ninjas in Pyjamas, Love "phzy" Smidebrant played a key part in NIP's surprise win against Natus Vincere Friday evening at BLAST Premier Spring Groups.

The 19-year-old Young Ninjas player scored a career-high rating (vs top 30 teams) on the decider map, Mirage against s1mple and company, as he assisted in the big upset win. After the match, the desk at BLAST asked his teammate Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora about the strengths of the young AWP'er.

While the future of dev1ce is still uncertain, perhaps Love "phzy" Smidebrant could be a more permanent option for the Swedish Ninjas. A question that Plopski was also asked during the interview.

After their exit from BLAST World Finals, we talked with NIP's rifler, Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora. The young Swede could not hide his disappointment in the result, losing to Astralis in overtime on Nuke.

- They played well, but I think we lost the match based on our mistakes more, the quick analysis sounded like from Plopski.

BLAST World Finals was the last competitive tournament for the Swedish Ninjas in 2021, which saw them winning IEM Fall while coming second on two occasions at IEM Winter and Flashpoint 3. For Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora though, the year has been his worst rating-wise in his career.

- It has been a disappointment. I haven't played at the level that I know, that I can.  So I would say, that I have been pretty disappointed in myself. But I felt towards the end at least, that I started to play better and better, so it's good for the next year at least.

When asked about the lackluster performances throughout the year, Plopski explains.

- It has been a mixture of position swaps and role changes. I haven't really been the most comfortable in the team as it is. But in the end, I have been more comfortable and tried to be more aggressive like I was when I first joined the team. I played too passive before, and when I play passive and don't do much, I feel like I have no impact, and I just play bad. So I tried to help "hampus" with the mid-round calling and tried to be more involved, so I could also play better myself. I feel like that helped in the end, but obviously, it wasn't enough.

Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora has been a part of NIP since June 2019.

The last elimination match of the day featured Ninjas in Pyjamas and OG. The last couple of times the teams have faced each other it has been OG that have had the upper hand, but this time it was the Ninjas' turn to come out as the winners.

”Aleksib” and OG chose that the first battleground of the match was to be Inferno, a map on which both teams are well-versed.

OG, starting on the T-side, started out best with lots of convincing openers and site-takes that prompted several immediate save calls from the Ninjas. OG managed to bring themselves to an 8-3 scoreline without ever really being able to break the bank of NIP due to all the saves. The Danish/Swedish combo was luckily able to pull some rounds back before halftime and were able to go into the second half with more confidence and an 8-7 scoreline.

NIP were able to take the lead early in the second half, but there was never much separation between the teams, who looked extremely evenly matched. After a very back-and-forth map, NIP were able to bring it to map point at 15-12. OG were able to take one round more before they were laid to rest by the Ninjas at 16-13.

NIP picked into Ancient as the second map, maybe a targeted pick as OG have only played this map in three official matches.

After the narrow loss on Inferno OG looked hungry early on, as they devoured the NIP offense. They made it very clear from the start, that this is not a weak map for them. With a little bit of a lackluster performance from “mantuu” and “flameZ” on Inferno it seemed like they had something to prove on Ancient, as they in combination with “valde” led the team to an 11-4 lead at halftime.

The Ninjas wanted to close the match out in two maps, so they started mounding a comeback, grinding away the rounds from OG one at a time. OG were still the first to reach map point at 15-12, and they closed the game at 16-13.

The third and final map to be played was Nuke which saw OG start as the terrorist while NIP would be defending.

The hot hand from the start of this third map was one attached to “device”, who led the way for his team to take a commanding 8-0 lead. OG were able to answer back in a small way, but then “REZ” stepped up to the plate and silenced them completely, leading the Ninjas to a halftime lead of 13-2.

OG managed to pick up the first three rounds of the second half, making a comeback look more plausible. But it was too little too late from the OG boys as the Scandinavian Ninjas only had to win a stray round here and there. NIP win Nuke 16-8.

With the result, OG is eliminated at IEM Winter 2021, while NIP will face Team Liquid tomorrow in the Group A Lower Final.

The second knockout match of the day at BLAST Premier Fall Final featured two star-studded lineups with the heavy favorites from NIP taking on Liquid in a thrilling Bo3 elimination battle. The two teams and their current situation cannot be more diverse and different than it is right now. The Liquid roster is crumbling from the inside with serious roster changes being reported, while NIP, on the other hand, can see itself with a brand-new squad consisting of the newcomer es3tag on the server.

Liquid stays alive at BLAST Premier Fall Final 2021 after defeating NIP 2-1 while sending the ninjas home with only one map to their name. The series started with NIP’s map pick on Inferno, where the Swedes took away the first half with a small advantage, 8-7. The second half was close, and despite NAF doing everything he could to drag Liquid in overtime, the ninjas secured the first map, 16-13.

It was a different map on Mirage, where the swedes didn’t show up, losing the first half 4-11. The nightmare was not over for dev1ce and company, where Liquid won the fourth pistol round of the series before cruising to a comfortable 16-4 win.

In the decider on Overpass, NIP began to take over the game finding opening after opening to drive to a 5-0 lead before NAF and Liquid put their first on the tally. With 19 frags, es3tag gave NIP the lead before halftime, 8-7. In the second half, Liquid stabilized their defense all the way to close the map 16-11 and the series 2-1.

The Swedes from NIP got off to a flying start at BLAST Premier Fall Groups when they yesterday completely ripped BIG apart in the opening round at Group B. The swift Ninjas made short work of Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz and his troops, as they handed them two crushing 16-9 and 16-6 defeats.

The standout player was undoubtedly NIP’s Fredrik “REZ” Sterner, who ended the match with an outstanding 1.75 Rating / 118.1 ADR scoreline, including this beautiful ace on A-site Inferno.

In the post-match interview, the desk spoke with the young rifler Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora, where REZ also was the big talking point after his impressive showing against BIG.

- We have made some roles within the teams clearer, which means me and LNZ will basically just try to do what we can to help REZ get into his comfort zone. We will do much for him, so we can help him in the game and he can be more consistent. Then he can have these games like the one today, where we just say “REZ go kill” and then he just kills everyone, Ploski said to the desk and added:

- He’s (REZ) really good at trading. I’m obviously the entry fragger, and when we go into a site and I hear that REZ is right behind me, I know that he will always get a trade kill.

Yesterday's results mean that NIP and G2 will meet in a thrilling upper final, where the victor secures a spot at BLAST Premier Fall Final in November. The final group of the group stage in ESL Pro League Season 14 is underway and is already creating intense Bo3-series between some of the best teams in the world. In the second Bo3-series on day 2 of Group D, it was NiP and Entropiq’s turn to brawl. Entropiq looked fierce in their opening match against Furia and NiP the opposite when losing to Liquid 2-0 yesterday. The losing streak, however, didn’t continue for “device” and the Swedes, as they managed to silence the aggressive Entropiq roster and take home the 2-0 victory.

The first map was the pick of Entropiq and saw the Bo3-series kick off on Dust 2. The map of Dust 2 has historically been home ground for many CIS teams, and today it was Entropiq’s. However, whilst it was the map pick of Entropiq, NiP put up a phenomenal performance and seemed hungry for the win. Going back and forth, almost throughout the entire map, it was as close as possible and difficult to point towards the stronger roster. Ultimately, however, it was the NiP boys, led by a reinvigorated “Plopski”, to take home Dust 2 at the scoreline of 16-14.

The second map of the series was to be played on Ancient and was, of course, the map pick of NiP. The Swedish team has played the newly added map before, however, it is still unfamiliar territory for some teams, and perhaps NiP was seeking to catch an unexpected Entropiq roster by surprise. It was perhaps, unfamiliar territory for the CIS roster Entropiq as it was NiP to perform the strongest on Ancient. Despite a valid attempt from Entropiq on both maps, they would have to see themselves bested 2-0 after a 16-9 loss on Ancient
