Dzhami "Jame" Ali and the rest of the Virtus.pro team are on a hot streak before the start of the Copenhagen Major. With six victories in a row the CIS team has gotten the perfect preparation for the Major, where they are looking to repeat their last Major run, where they went all the way in the 2022 Rio Major.

At the IEM Dallas qualifier, VP won all their three matches against B8, Apeks, and Heroic. In a closely fought match against Heroic, it was Petr 'fame' Bolyshev and Evgenii 'FL1T' Lebedev that paved the way for a victory. The two Russian riflers have been among the highest-rated performers of 2024, and have played a key part in VP’s qualifying runs at BLAST Spring Groups, PGL Copenhagen RMR, and the IEM Dallas qualifier. The only let-down of 2024 has been Virtus.pro’s early exit at IEM Katowice, where Cloud9 and GamerLegion eliminated Dzhami "Jame" Ali’s troops.

Today Heroic and Metizport will enter the server to battle for the last European ticket for IEM Dallas. Metizport reached the Consolidation Final after a strong run in the lower bracket of the tournament.

The final battle for the $150,000 first prize at Roobet Cup is set to take place tonight at 18.00 CET, when Virtus.pro and Monte go head to head.

The two teams booked their tickets to the Grand Final yesterday with 2-1 wins.

Virtus.pro fought off FURIA after losing the first map of the series in overtime. But on both Inferno and Ancient, it was Evgenii 'FL1T' Lebedev who stood out in the VP comeback that ended with a convincing 13-7 win on Ancient. For FURIA it was the usual suspects in Yuri 'yuurih' Santos and Kaike 'KSCERATO' Cerato that led the way, but the two Brazilian riflers lacked support from the rest of the roster to tip over the match.

The second Semi-Final was almost a true replica of the first. Aurora won Anubis, but then Monte fought back and eliminated the Russians with wins on Nuke and Ancient. 

Tonight at 18.00 CET the Grand Final will take place. You can watch the match in the livestream below.

Eight teams are left to fight for the $150,000 first-place prize that is up for grabs at the 2023 edition of Roobet Cup. Last week teams such as Heroic, Astralis, Fnatic, NIP, and Spirit were eliminated from the online tournament.

Most noticeable has been the excellent performances from Virtus.pro, BIG, and Monte during the tournament. Alongside FURIA the four teams have gone through the tournament undefeated so far.

Virtus.pro’s Evgeniy "FL1T" Lebedev has put on an incredible display with an average rating of 1.48 during the five maps he and VP have played.

Outsiders

Outsiders continue to impress at ESL Pro League Season 16 after taking home their second win in a row this Thursday. Today it was FTW’s turn to get handed a 2-0 defeat after a strong performance by Dzhami “Jame” Ali and his troops.

The Portuguese underdogs from FTW were more competitive versus Outsiders than in yesterday’s series against FaZe. However, that didn’t change much in the end as they still were levels below their CIS enemies on both Vertigo and Dust2.

Evgenii 'FL1T' Lebedev was extremely well-playing for Outsiders this afternoon, with the former forZe rifler grabbing one kill after another. His massive 2.19 rating on Vertigo was followed up with a likewise dominant 1.47 rating on Dust2, leading Outsiders to a clean victory for the second day in a row.

At the LAN event in Jönköping, Sweden there are only two matches left in the tournament.

Endpoint, MIBR, Eternal Fire, and Outsiders all won their two opening matches to secure qualification for ESL Pro League Season 16. All four teams won their matches without dropping a map. Evgeniy "FL1T" Lebedev (Outsiders), Guy "Nertz" Iluz (Endpoint), and İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş (Eternal Fire) all ended with a rating above 1.45 for the four maps played.

Today the last two spots for the tournament will be found. In the first match, it will be an all-even French derby, when Falcons face HEET. In the second match, Illuminar from Poland will go head to head with FTW from Portugal.

ESL Pro League Group B has been a long tale of upsets so far at the event. After a lackluster IEM Katowice, there were little to no expectations towards the international roster from ENCE going into ESL Pro League Season 15. But all experts' and bookmakers' predictions have been proved wrong.

FaZe and Team Vitality was beaten on Day 1 and 2 of the tournament before the roster of Virtus.pro was waiting under their neutral name "Outsiders".

Despite Evgeny 'FL1T' Lebedev valiant effort on Mirage, Outsiders never really had anything going for them on the first map. It was especially the AWP of Olek 'hades' Miskiewicz who was the big issue for the CIS team. ENCE's sniper made 21 kills with the AWP alone on the map that ended 16-10 in favor of ENCE.

Dust2 was picked next by Outsiders. Here Mareks 'YEKINDAR' Gaļinskis and company had more success with their gameplan. A good T-side gave them a 9-6 lead at the break. Despite a 15-13 lead, Outsiders could not close off the map which gave ENCE the chance to win the map and match in overtime. Here Snappi and his men came through on their T-side to steal the map away. ENCE is now on three victories alongside FURIA in Group B. Tomorrow the two teams face each other in a direct confrontation where the winner will be guaranteed a spot in the Quarter-Finals of the tournament.

The last game of the day in the upper bracket featured Virtus.pro and NIP. They faced each other for a chance to play against Heroic in the Group A upper final on Sunday. 

The first team to pick a map was NIP and they unsurprisingly went with Overpass, a map that they have favored recently.

The Swedes were the first out of the gate, taking a 2-0 lead on their T-side. That was the last time in the first half that things looked bright for the Ninjas, because Virtus.pro took back the lead almost immediately, and kept it until halftime at 10-5.

The second half was almost a mirror image of the first with NIP starting best, but ultimately failing to keep a winstreak going, and Virtus.pro steal away the map pick of the Swedes at 16-9.

The action continued on Vertigo where “YEKINDAR” and “FL1T” were responsible for a brilliant 6-1 start to the VP t-side. The Ninjas came roaring back into the game with a four-round streak and all of a sudden it was a very tight game again. At halftime, the race was dead even at 8-7 in favor of Virtus.pro.

The Swedes continued their momentum from the first half as they picked up five rounds in a row to start the half. VP clawed themselves halfway back, but it was never really convincing for the CIS-team, and NIP took the victory 16-12.

The map chosen to be the decider was Ancient and had Virtus.pro starting as the terrorists while the Ninjas had to defend.

The map started off very back and forth, with no team really being able to string more than two rounds together. At the score of 4-4 Virtus.pro finally managed to take over control of the game and put a good amount of space between the two teams as they were able to win the last seven rounds of the half as T-side on the most CT-sided map in the pool.

The Ninjas started the second half with a much-needed small winstreak, to reduce the round deficit from seven to four. But once again the Ninjas were not able to keep the rounds coming and VP were able to win the map at 16-8.

Virtus.pro are now set to take on Heroic in the Group A upper final, while NIP will take on MOUZ in the lower semis.

Virtus.pro looks more and more like a team, that could be ready to repeat their deep run from last year at IEM Katowice.

In their warm-up event ESL Challenger, Virtus.pro is now ready for the Grand Final after three straight wins. In the Semi-Final against Complexity, VP outclassed their opponents. With Mareks 'YEKINDAR' Gaļinskis and Evgeniy "FL1T" Lebedev in excellent shape, Overpass was only fairly even in the first half, while Virtus.pro took total control on their T-side to win 16-8.

The domination continued on Dust2, where the dangerous VP duo gave Complexity a very hard time. A 10-5 lead at the break was quickly converted to a 16-6 win. Virtus.pro is now ready for the Grand Final against FURIA later tonight.

It was a tight half of Mirage that saw the two teams go back-and-forth in the first half, but the Brazilians were able to create a significant advantage, 8-7. In the second half, GODSENT extended their lead to 9-14 before Virtus.pro began their climbing back into the game. The Russians managed to get seven rounds in a row to complete the comeback and take the first map 16-14.

Onto the second map of Dust 2, picked by Virtus.pro, it seemed like TACO and company were affected by their loss on Mirage. It started very well for the Brazilians as they ran up to a 4-0 lead, but from there on, Virtus.pro kicked into another gear and took away the half, 10-5. A pistol-round victory could perhaps give them hope for a comeback, but Virtus.pro immediately bounced back in the forcebuy followed by quick closing the series at 16-7, 2-0.

It is not a rare sight these days to see Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis walking around the Avicii Arena experiencing the Major with the rest of us. The Latvian rifler was knocked out of the tournament on Thursday but has stayed in Stockholm to extract everything he can from the event.

- I love it. The crowd is amazing. I walk around and people are asking for photos. I was not that popular before the Major, so now when everybody is asking for photos it energizes me, and I feel the love for CS after this.

The explosive Virtus.pro player has indeed made his name much more household after the PGL Major in Stockholm. A spot in the Quarter-Finals gave the Latvian a chance to perform on the big stage. His aggressiveness throughout the tournament has underlined, that he is not just an online player, but that he can also deliver on LAN. With 63 opening kills during the PGL Major, YEKINDAR has been the best entry-fragger in the tournament alongside names as ZywOo and NiKo.

While Virtus.pro came short in their Quarter-Final against Heroic, this is only the beginning of the VP roster according to YEKINDAR, who sees great possibilities in the future for the CIS team, who changed its roster right before the Major started bringing in Evgeniy "FL1T" Lebedev instead of Sanjar "SANJI" Kuliev.

- With FL1T we can be higher than the sky. We just need a little more time. We need to share our experience and knowledge with FL1T, so we can improve overall gameplay and the outside relationship together.

Virtus.pro has brought in the profiled 20-year-old Evgeny "⁠FL1T⁠" Lebedev to boost their roster, the Russians confirm on Friday. The former forZe star will replace Sanjar "⁠SANJI⁠" Kuliev in the lineup, owing to the Uzbek being axed a few days before the start of PGL Stockholm Major.

Sergey Glamazda, General Manager at Virtus.pro describes the decision to sign FL1T and replace SANJI as a necessary action for the team if they want to achieve the best possible result at the upcoming Major.  

Major is the main event in CS: GO, which everyone has been waiting for two whole years. Its outcome is very important both for our club and for the fans. We want to show the best result, but for this our team needs a shake-up. We got the opportunity to play with Evgeny, and our club decided to use it. We hope that his participation will become the very impulse that will help the team to perform at the peak of their capabilities.

 Glamazda explains that this new VP roster isn’t set in stone, and possible changes after the Major might happen as well. "At the moment, no decisions have been made regarding the future of our squad. Everything will be decided on a cold head at the end of the tournament, the VP GM states.

G2's meltdown at ESL Pro League continued Wednesday night with a clear 2-0 defeat to forZe. This marks the fourth straight defeat for the roster, who were already knocked out of the tournament before the match started.

The question beforehand was, if G2 had it in them to make it an exciting match or not?

The first map gave two very different answers. Star player Nikola 'NiKo' Kovač did his best in the first half to make a convincing effort, but after the break, G2 fell apart and lost the map after a 10-5 lead.

On Nuke the hope of any G2 comeback died along with NiKo, who struggled to replicate his decent performance on Mirage. There was a sense of hopelessness from the G2 roster, who looked like a team that very quickly would like to be relieved of their duty of playing any more in ESL Pro League.

forZe won the map 16-7, and secured themselves a well-deserved spot in the playoffs after a solid performance in the group stage. G2 is out, and it will be interesting to see, if this sort of performance will have any repercussions for the team selection going forward.

Both teams will play their last match tomorrow. forZe will have an eye on the Complexity vs OG match, where they will root for OG to make a clean sweep in the group. This will open up for forZe to end on second place and earn a better seeding, if they at the same time can manage to beat SinnerS.

YEKINDAR´s troops are favorites against a strong forZe roster, but anything can happen in these playoff games!

FL1T has been in great form in the last three months, and he will be the player to keep an eye on in the match because he can become the gamechanger in today´s game.

Another thing to keep an eye on is the Jame and YEKINDAR duo, the two seems to fit well together, and they will be hard to stop for forZe

Fnatic, ENCE, FURIA, and Team Spirit had all been eliminated along the way to the Grand Final for forZe and EPG Family.

The two teams had undoubtedly been the strongest at the tournament, and it was therefore only fitting, that the two CIS teams gave each other a brawl of a Grand Final at Spring Sweet Spring.

RPG Family was off to the best start. The ex-Winstrike team managed to break free from forZe at 13-13 in the second half. Good teamplay from Aleksey 'NickelBack' Trofimov set his teammates up to several kills at the end of Overpass to secure the map 16-13.

On Mirage the story was reversed. After an 8-7 lead at the break, it was this time forZe who managed to distance themselves on the scoreboard to win the map and force the Grand Final to Dust2 to be decided.

The last map of the tournament did not disappoint. Both teams had to rely on their snipers to make the difference. Aleksandr 'zorte' Zagodyrenko from forZe had the upperhand on the majority of the map. But when it mattered the most, Aleksey 'El1an' Gusev stepped up to keep EPG Family alive until 15-14! Here a direct AWP-duel between the two of them fell out to zorte and forZe, who went on to secure the victory, $40.000, and a spot at the LAN tournament next year.

The forZe star FL1T delivered yesterday a beautiful play when forZe played against K23 at Spring Sweet Spring 1. Despite, the promising rifler being situated in a tough 1v4 situation, he manages to take home the round by killing all four players with a sick spray transfer.

Extra Salt got a great start in the first map on Inferno, and they were quickly leading 6-1 as the CT side against forZe as the T side.

But the Russian organization wouldn’t give up without a fight as they made it to 6-4, but then the momentum changed again. Extra Salt would go on to win the next nine rounds, to make it to 15-4, and the first map win was just a formality for Extra Salt.

Especially the Canadian FaNg was an absolute machine for Extra Salt in the first map, where he ended the map with a whopping ADR of 117,8. He was the key for Extra Salt in the map that ended in a 16 to 5 slathering of forZe.

The second map on Train started with a strong start from forZe, where they came up 5-1 until Extra Salt chose to step up their game.

Extra Salt ended up making the map competitive as they made it 8-8 just after halftime, but forZe ended up securing the map.

A map that was way closer than the first map, a great team performance by forZe, where three out of the five players on the Russian roster had a rating over 1.20. The three players are zorte, Jerry, and FL1T, they were playing on a very high level together.

After an even start on the last map Nuke at 3-3 then Extra Salt shifted gears, as they won eight rounds in a row to make it 4-11, a great performance, where the T side for forZe didn’t work out as they planned.

But after the half and the change from T to CT the tables turned as it was forZe´s turn to win consecutive rounds, they came back at 10-11 and the game was yet again competitive.  

The last map became even more intense as it was to be decided in overtime at Nuke, after a very close first thirty rounds, where the CT side for both teams was very effective, as they both won their CT side 11-4.

The two sides met each other on eight maps last year, where forZe won five of them and Complexity won three, two of the maps went in overtime. So, if we look back at the 8 maps from the last year, we can expect a close match between the two.

As of now, forZe is #40 on HLTV´s world rankings, which is way behind the number nine in the world Complexity, therefore Complexity is such a favorite, but we have seen the team deliver even though the bookmakers didn’t grant them any chance.

The two key players in the match will be FL1T from forZe who is in great form and have been playing at an average rating of 1.20 in the last three months. The other key player will be Complexity´s blameF who have been playing amazing with a rating of 1.19 in the last three months.

We suspect that the game will be a lot tighter than the bookmakers makes it, and therefore will be a very entertaining game to watch.

The first match of Funspark ULTI Europe featured the strong number 1 seed in Virtus.pro and the lowest seed in their countrymen from forZe. On the world ranking there are 41 spots between them, as VP is placed #5, while forZe is placed all the way down on #46. 

However today, the rankings didn’t mean anything. Because Andrey "Jerry" Mekhryakov and the rest of forZe played up to their very best levels, as they dismantled the otherwise dominant Virtus.pro squad. A true masterpiece of a performance by forZe’s Evgeny "FL1T" Lebedev, led the underdogs to two strong victories on Mirage and Overpass. 

The latter map went to triple overtime, where Virtus.pro had every chance to win the map, but several unfortunate decisions, like forgetting the bomb in their spawn, left the VP squad in dire straits. YEKINDAR did his best, but in the end, Virtus.pro lost after a lackluster performance.

EXTREMUM lost their chance of a playoff spot at Snow Sweet Snow with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of forZe.

The new roster started by winning on Inferno. But then it was Evgeny "FL1T" Lebedev time! The Russian went completely mad on Mirage sporting a fantastic 2.24 rating going 31-12 in K/D helping his team dominating 16-6.

On the last map the 20-year-old rifler continued his impressive performance with another stellar performance on Dust2. After being behind 6-9 at halftime, forZe won their CT-side 10-0! FL1T scored a 1.74 rating on the last map.

forZe is now through to the playoffs at Snow Sweet Snow on Monday.
