Vitality continues promising start to 2023
The roster is now ready for the upper semi-final on Monday.
IEM Katowice is shaping up to be a very interesting event with several of the top teams performing at their highest level. One of them is Team Vitality who started the year going flawlessly through BLAST Spring Groups. Today they added the fourth victory in a row in 2023 with a clear 2-0 victory against NIP.
The match kicked off on Mirage, where NIP actually started well. But at 2-6 down, Vitality stepped up. The French/Danish/Israelian roster won all the remaining rounds in the first half which seemed to break the spirit of NIP who lost their map pick 16-10.
On Inferno, the bad news continued for NIP. Mathieu 'ZywOo' Herbaut was on fire which left absolutely no doubt about the outcome of the match. Vitality won 16-9 with ZywOo going 24-14 in K-D.
For NIP the most troubling sight was the lack of impact and kills from their new AWPer Daniil 'headtr1ck' Valitov. The Ukrainian only scored a rating of 0.59 for the two maps combined. The Swedish Ninjas drop down to the lower bracket with today’s loss.
