Strong Swedes batter Heroic at IEM Summer
NIP move on at the $250.000 event after taking down the cadiaN and company.
Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz and the rest of NIP are ready for the lower final at IEM Summer. That became a reality today, as the iconic team took home a confident 2-0 win against Heroic, which means elimination for the world #2.
On the first map on Mirage, NIP managed to present a stellar comeback, where NIP turned a tough 4-11 scoreline into a vital overtime win, through a strong performance by the newcomer Linus “LNZ” Holtäng, who ended the map with a 1.27 Rating / 27-20 K-D.
It looked like the comeback on the first map totally disrupted the energy and motivation on the Heroic side, as the Danes came out to the second map in quite the bad shape, and where they struggled to find a footing in a NIP-controlled match. Something, NIP took advantage of and sealed a crushing 16-7 victory, which secured their further advancement in the tournament.
