NiP defeat ENCE 2-1 in a tumultuous series
A back-and-forth series sees NiP as the victors
The second day of Group B at the ESL Pro League Season 13 event saw Ninjas in Pyjamas facing ENCE. Ninjas in Pyjamas lost their first series of the event to G2 2-0 after a close second map on Mirage. ENCE Managed a win in their first series of the event against Mousesports 2-1, however, they seemed a different roster against NiP. Finishing the series after the third map NiP finally defeated ENCE 2-1 and secured their first victory of the event.
The first map took place on Nuke and was picked by ENCE. Despite being picked by the ENCE side, however, it was a pretty one-sided affair. Starting strong was NiP, who managed an 8-0 lead before losing a single round to ENCE. The dominance continued and ultimately ENCE had to see themselves beaten on their own map pick. NiP walked away from the first map on Nuke with an impressive 16-2 victory.
The second map was picked by the Swedes and took place on Mirage. Despite them losing to G2 on Mirage yesterday they held their own and played according to plan. This time, however, it was a completely different story. Perhaps frustrated with their performance on Nuke ENCE was poised to punish a lazy NiP on Mirage. And that was exactly what happened. ENCE kept piling on the pressure and finished map two at 16-5.
The third and final map was set to take place on Inferno. It is the most played third map in professional Counter-Strike, and Inferno didn’t disappoint this time either. For the first in the series, it was somewhat competitive. Both teams wanted the victory and refused to give up but, in the end, it was NiP to have the edge over ENCE. They closed out Inferno at 16-7 and won the series 2-1.
The victory against ENCE is NiP’s first victory of the event and will, presumably, be vital to their hunt for a top-3 finishing place in the group stages.
